Like light falling through a winter canopy, this oval Herkimer diamond engagement ring is all soft shimmer and organic shadow. The raw, natural crystal — a quartz, not a diamond, and proudly so — sits in a band of solid white gold wrapped in delicate leaf motifs, with black and clear moissanite accents adding contrast where the leaves part. Earthy, celestial, and impossible to duplicate.
A Leaf-Wrapped Oval
Delicate leaf motifs climb the band and cradle the oval center, so the ring reads like something grown rather than made. It belongs to the same world as our leaf engagement rings and the wider nature-inspired engagement rings collection — pieces for brides whose taste runs to forests, fairytales, and quiet magic rather than showroom sparkle.
Raw Herkimer, Honestly Named
Let us be clear about the stone, because the name invites confusion: a Herkimer diamond is a naturally double-terminated quartz crystal, about 7 on the Mohs scale, not a diamond. What it offers instead is character — a raw, earthy shimmer reminiscent of a salt and pepper diamond, with inclusions that catch light in ways both earthy and celestial. Each crystal is one of a kind. For a practical look at wearability, read are Herkimer diamond rings durable; for the deeper story, see our complete Herkimer diamond guide.
Black and Clear Moissanite, in Contrast
Where most accent stones simply sparkle, this ring alternates black and clear moissanite for a striking push and pull of shadow and light along the leaves. Moissanite is a real lab-grown gemstone — 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with more fire than diamond — so the accents are as durable as they are dramatic.
Solid White Gold or Platinum
This ring is made to order in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or platinum, selected from the drop-down. 10K is the most durable and most affordable; 14K is our best-selling balance of purity and strength, and the default for this design; 18K carries the highest gold content for a richer glow. Platinum is denser, hypoallergenic, and naturally white. Compare them side by side in our 10K vs 14K vs 18K gold karat comparison guide. Other colors are available on request.
A Distinctive Alternative to the Solitaire
With its raw oval center and botanical band, this ring is a natural fit for non-traditional brides and lovers of bohemian or fantasy aesthetics — if that is you, our guide to non-traditional engagement rings walks through everything worth considering. The elongating oval silhouette flatters every hand; see it across our oval engagement rings, or meet the stone’s siblings in our Herkimer diamond engagement rings. A matching leaf wedding band or ring guard is available separately to complete the set.

Sizing & Care
Made to order in your chosen size — check our ring size guide before ordering, as sizing can differ slightly between jewelers. Care for the raw crystal gently: mild soap, warm water, and a soft brush, patted dry. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, slip the ring off for heavy-handed tasks, and store it away from harder stones to keep the natural surfaces bright.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Herkimer diamond actually a diamond?
No. It is a naturally double-terminated quartz crystal, about 7 on the Mohs scale. The nickname comes from its glassy clarity and natural facets, and we would rather be upfront about that than trade on the name.
Is the center stone natural or raw?
Both. The oval Herkimer center is a natural, raw crystal, so its shimmer and inclusions formed in the earth, not in a factory, and every stone is unique.
Does it look like a salt and pepper diamond?
It has a similar earthy, speckled character. The raw shimmer of a Herkimer is often compared to a salt and pepper diamond, though the stone itself is quartz, which is part of why it costs so much less.
What are the accent stones?
Black and clear moissanite. Moissanite is a real lab-grown gemstone rated 9.25 on the Mohs scale, and alternating the two colors gives the leaf band its distinctive contrast.
Is there a matching wedding band?
Yes. A matching leaf wedding band or ring guard is available separately, so you can complete the set now or later.
Which metal should I choose?
Choose 10K white gold for the most durable, budget-friendly pick, 14K for the classic everyday balance and the default for this design, or 18K for the highest gold content. Choose platinum for a naturally white, hypoallergenic metal.
Is this real solid gold?
Yes. Every ring is made from solid gold in your chosen karat, 10K, 14K, or 18K, or from solid platinum, precious metal through and through.
How big is the center stone?
The oval measures 6.0 x 8.0 mm and weighs approximately 1.2 carats.
Is quartz durable enough for everyday wear?
At about 7 on the Mohs scale, it is harder than steel and wears well with sensible habits: remove the ring for rough work, keep it away from harder stones, and clean it gently.
Will my ring match the photos exactly?
Closely, but each raw Herkimer crystal has its own tone and inclusions, so your stone will carry a one-of-a-kind pattern no photo can fully predict.
How should I clean it?
Mild soap, warm water, and a soft brush, then pat dry. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners, which can stress the natural inclusions in the crystal.
Who is this ring best suited for?
Brides who prefer raw, nature-inspired gemstones over traditional diamonds, and lovers of bohemian, fantasy, or celestial aesthetics who want an engagement ring with an enchanted feel.
Is the ring made to order?
Yes. Each ring is crafted to order in your chosen metal and size, and other colors are available on request.
✨ Production time

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.

Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Standard engraving is complimentary and set in Arial, chosen because it stays legible at very small sizes. These symbols are included at no extra cost:

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
