Some gemstones hold one color; this one holds a whole aurora. A mystic topaz ring catches greens, violets, blues, and golds in a single oval face, shifting with every turn of your hand — and here that spectacle is set low in leaf-carved solid white gold or platinum, edged with moissanite, like light caught in a forest canopy.
A Stone That Never Repeats Itself
Mystic topaz begins as natural topaz — the same gem family cherished for centuries as November’s birthstone — finished with an ultra-thin surface treatment that scatters light into its signature rainbow shimmer. The result is a play of peacock greens, twilight purples, and deep sea blues that no photograph fully captures. Our guide to what mystic topaz is explains exactly how the stone earns its glow, and if you are curious about the gem’s deeper story, explore topaz meaning and symbolism.
The 6x8mm oval cut is the ideal stage for this stone. Its rounded outline and brilliant faceting keep light moving across the surface continuously, so the color-play never sits still — and the elongated shape flatters the finger the way the best oval engagement rings always have.
The Leaf-Carved Setting
Delicate leaf motifs climb the band toward the center stone, each one catching light along its polished edges, with moissanite accents nestled among the foliage like dew. Moissanite is a real lab-grown gemstone with more fire than diamond, so the accents flash rainbow sparks that echo the center stone’s own play of color. It is a design made for lovers of nature and fantasy — kin to our leaf engagement rings and the broader world of fantasy-inspired engagement rings. A matching leaf wedding band, which doubles as a ring guard, is available separately.
Solid White Gold or Platinum — Your Choice
Every ring is made to order in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or platinum, selected from the drop-down. 10K is the hardest and most affordable; 14K is the classic balance of durability and value; 18K carries the highest gold content for a richer, weightier feel. Platinum is denser, naturally white, and hypoallergenic. Whichever you choose, it is solid precious metal all the way through — never plated or gold-filled — like everything in our solid gold rings collection. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide breaks the choice down side by side.
For the Non-Traditional Bride
This ring suits proposals with a touch of magic: brides who want a gemstone beyond the traditional diamond, and couples drawn to symbolism as much as sparkle. Topaz has long been associated with clarity, confidence, and good fortune — and mystic topaz adds a note of transformation, a stone that literally changes with your point of view. Sizing & Care
Each ring is made to order in your exact size, including half and quarter sizes — use our ring sizing guide to measure with confidence, since sizing can vary up to half a size between jewelers’ tools. To care for your ring, wash it gently with mild soap, lukewarm water, and a soft cloth. Skip abrasive polishes, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners — gentle handling keeps the rainbow finish brilliant — and store it in its ring box away from harder jewelry.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is mystic topaz?
Mystic topaz is natural topaz finished with an ultra-thin surface treatment that scatters light into a rainbow of greens, purples, blues, and golds. The base stone is genuine topaz; the finish is what gives it the famous aurora-like shimmer.
Is the mystic topaz in this ring natural?
Yes — the center stone is natural topaz. Its rainbow iridescence comes from a fine surface finish applied to the stone, which is exactly what makes mystic topaz mystic. We describe this openly because we believe you should know precisely what you are wearing.
What colors does mystic topaz show?
Expect a shifting blend of peacock green, violet, teal, blue, and flashes of gold. The mix changes with the light and the angle of your hand, so the ring reads slightly different every time you look at it — no two glances repeat.
How do I keep the rainbow finish looking its best?
Clean it with mild soap, lukewarm water, and a soft cloth, and avoid abrasive polishes, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic or steam cleaners. Treated this gently, the finish keeps its shimmer beautifully. Store the ring in its box away from harder stones.
Can I wear this ring every day?
Yes, with sensible habits. Topaz is a durable gemstone, and the low-set oval sits close to the hand. Because the rainbow effect lives in a surface finish, remove the ring for gym sessions, gardening, and cleaning with chemicals — the same habits jewelers recommend for any fine ring.
Which metal should I choose?
14K white gold is the most popular all-rounder, balancing durability, everyday wearability, and value. Choose 10K for the most durable and budget-friendly option, 18K for the highest gold content and a more luxurious weight, or platinum for a denser, naturally white, hypoallergenic metal.
Is this ring real solid gold?
Yes. It is crafted in your chosen karat of solid white gold — 10K, 14K, or 18K — or solid platinum. It is never plated or gold-filled, so the color and the value run all the way through the metal.
Is platinum worth the upgrade?
If you have sensitive skin or want a naturally white metal with noticeable heft, yes. Platinum is denser than gold and hypoallergenic, and its color is its own — not a finish. White gold remains the lighter, more affordable route to the same cool-toned look.
Are the accent stones real gemstones?
Yes. The accents are moissanite, a real lab-grown gemstone (silicon carbide) with more brilliance and fire than diamond and outstanding hardness for daily wear. It is a genuine gem in its own right, not an imitation.
Is there a matching wedding band?
Yes — the matching leaf wedding band, which also works as a ring guard hugging the engagement ring, is sold separately. Together the pair completes the vine-and-leaf silhouette across both rings.
Is mystic topaz a good engagement ring stone?
For the right person, wonderfully so. It suits brides who want color, story, and individuality over convention. It asks slightly more care than a diamond, and in exchange it offers a play of color no colorless stone can match.
Is this ring conflict-free?
Yes. Every Aquamarise ring is made with conflict-free stones and responsibly sourced precious metals, and arrives in a free luxury ring box with free USA shipping.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our ring sizing guide at aquamarise.com/pages/find-your-size. Because sizers and mandrels vary between jewelers, your measured size can differ by up to half a size — the guide walks you through getting an accurate reading, and half and quarter sizes are available.
Is this ring made to order?
Yes. Each ring is handmade to order in your chosen metal and size. Requested modifications are welcome and may adjust the production timeline and pricing — contact us for a custom quote, including different gemstone options.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
