A two-piece engagement ring set in sterling silver. A 5 × 7 mm pear lab-grown lavender sapphire sits on a pavé band, and a second band carries an open, pear-shaped halo that frames it like a hand mirror, with a single marquise at the top where the handle would be. Solid 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish.

Two Rings, One Mirror
Pear Solitaire
A four-prong 5 × 7 mm pear lavender sapphire, point up, on a slim band set with a line of simulated diamond pavé along each shoulder.
Mirror Halo Band
A matching pavé band that rises into an open pear frame of simulated diamonds, topped with one marquise. The frame sits over the center stone so the sapphire appears to float inside it.
Worn together the two rings read as a single halo ring. Worn apart, the solitaire is a clean pavé pear and the mirror band is an open frame ring that works over any slim stacker. The design belongs to the fairy-tale lane we cover in fairy engagement rings and fantasy engagement rings; for the wider field, non-traditional engagement rings.
The Lavender Sapphire
The center is lab-grown sapphire, grown as corundum with the same chemistry and 9 Mohs hardness as a mined sapphire, in a soft lilac-violet. It is cut as a 5 × 7 mm pear with the point toward the fingertip, which lengthens the finger and gives the open halo its shape to follow. Sapphire is the September birthstone.
Our sapphire engagement rings guide covers the stone's durability and how lab-grown compares with mined, and the purple gemstones guide places lavender sapphire against amethyst, tanzanite and the other purple stones. For the gift angle, what is my birthstone covers September.
Metal and Stones
Both rings are solid 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish, the bright white platinum-group coating used on white gold. It keeps the silver from tarnishing and gives the pavé a cooler, whiter ground than bare silver would.
The center pear is lab-grown sapphire. Every small round stone and the marquise at the top of the frame are simulated diamond (cubic zirconia). Our moissanite vs cubic zirconia post explains what that material does well and where it falls short of a mined stone.

Care
Sapphire is 9 on the Mohs scale, so the stones are the hardest practical choice and the rhodium finish is the limiting factor. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working the brush along the pavé where lotion collects, then dry before storing. No silver polishing cloths or abrasive compounds, which wear the rhodium thin; avoid chlorine, ultrasonic cleaners and household chemicals for the same reason. Take the set off for the gym, gardening and heavy cleaning. Our how to clean sterling silver and engagement ring care guides cover the rest.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the sapphire real?
It is lab-grown sapphire: real corundum, chemically and physically the same as a mined sapphire, grown in a lab rather than dug up. It is not a simulant. The small white stones on both rings are simulated diamond, which is cubic zirconia.
How many rings come in the set?
Two. The pear solitaire and an open halo band shaped like a hand mirror that frames it. Both ship together in one box.
How big is the center stone?
5 × 7 mm, pear cut, held in four prongs with the point toward the fingertip.
What shade is lavender sapphire?
A soft lilac-violet, lighter and cooler than amethyst. It reads pale in daylight and deepens a little under warm indoor light.
Is sapphire a birthstone?
Yes. Sapphire is the September birthstone, in every color including lavender.
Is sapphire hard enough for everyday wear?
Yes. Sapphire is 9 on the Mohs scale, harder than everything except diamond and moissanite. The rhodium finish on the silver, not the stone, is the part to protect.
Does the silver tarnish?
Not the way bare silver does. Both rings are solid 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish, which acts as a barrier against tarnish. After years of daily wear the finish can thin, and the rings can be refinished.
Can I wear the rings separately?
Yes. The pear solitaire stands on its own as a pavé engagement ring, and the mirror band wears alone as an open halo ring with nothing inside it.
Do the two rings sit flush?
Yes. The halo band is raised so its frame sits over the center stone, and the two pavé shanks stack together without a gap.
What sizes are available?
Sizes 4 through 11, including every half size. Both rings are made to the same size.
Can I have them engraved?
Yes. Engraving is available on the inner band, up to 16 characters, and can be added as an option at checkout.
Are the stones ethically sourced?
Yes. All Aquamarise stones are conflict-free and responsibly sourced, and every order arrives in a free luxury velvet jewelry box.
