The Design
Faelyn is a ring you have to look at twice. From a distance it is a long kite stone in a pointed silver frame. Up close, the frame is carved: fairy figures and leaves are worked in relief into the halo around the stone, with a small round accent at the top point and prongs at each corner.
The band splits into two strands that cross on each shoulder. One strand is polished silver and the other carries a row of round stones that sweeps up into the frame. If you are looking past a plain solitaire, our guides to fairy engagement rings and non-traditional engagement rings map the wider field, and what hand an engagement ring goes on answers the question that always follows.
The Moss Agate
Natural moss agate, a translucent chalcedony. Its green tracery is mineral, manganese and iron oxides that crystallized inside the stone as it formed, rather than organic material, despite the name. At 6.5 × 12 mm the kite gives the pattern plenty of room.
Patterning varies from stone to stone: yours will share the green character and translucence shown here, with its own arrangement of branching. Moss agate has a long association with growth and renewal, covered in our piece on moss agate meaning for couples.
Our comparison of the best cuts for moss agate rings explains what the kite shape does for the stone, and moss agate versus diamond is useful if you are weighing it against a traditional center stone.
Metal and Stones
The ring is solid 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish, the same platinum-group metal used on white gold. The rhodium gives the bright white surface and shields the silver underneath from tarnishing. The white accents on the band and at the top of the frame are cubic zirconia, not diamond.

Care
Moss agate is 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale and suits daily wear with normal care. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. Avoid abrasive polishes and chlorine, which wear the rhodium finish. See our guides to cleaning a moss agate ring and whether you can shower in one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the fairy on the ring?
In the halo. Fairy figures and leaves are carved in relief into the silver frame around the stone. They are small, so they show best up close.
Is the moss agate natural?
Yes. The center stone is natural moss agate. The green tracery is mineral inclusion formed within the stone, not added or treated.
Will my ring match the photographs?
It will share the same green character and translucence. The exact pattern of branching differs from stone to stone, so no two are identical.
How big is the center stone?
6.5 × 12 mm, kite cut. It is a long stone and covers a good part of the finger.
Is moss agate durable enough for an engagement ring?
Yes, with normal care. At 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale it is comparable to many stones worn daily in fine jewelry.
What is it made of?
Solid 925 sterling silver throughout, with a rhodium finish for a bright white surface. No brass or base metal.
Will the silver tarnish?
The rhodium finish acts as a barrier, so it resists the darkening untreated sterling develops. The finish does wear thin after years of daily wear, and we can refinish the ring when it does.
Are the white accent stones diamonds?
No. They are cubic zirconia, a simulated diamond.
Does this ring come with other stones?
Yes. The same Faelyn design is also made with a lab-grown alexandrite. Use the gemstone swatches on this page to switch between them.
What sizes are available?
Sizes 4 through 11, including every half size.
Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Not entirely. The lower point of the kite frame leaves a gap against a straight band. A contour or chevron band will nest more closely.
Can I have it engraved?
Yes. Engraving is available on the inner band, up to 16 characters, and can be added as an option at checkout.
Are the stones ethically sourced?
Yes. All Aquamarise stones are conflict-free and responsibly sourced, and every order arrives in a free luxury velvet jewelry box.
