Turn it under any light and it answers back. This vintage oval moissanite engagement ring holds a 6 × 8 mm GRA certified moissanite — D color, VVS1 clarity — inside a band of antique filigree and trailing vines in solid 14K white gold. Moissanite throws more rainbow fire than diamond, so an heirloom-style setting like this one flickers with color every time your hand moves.
Brilliance First: What Moissanite Brings
Moissanite is a real gemstone in its own right — silicon carbide, one of the hardest materials known at 9.25 on the Mohs scale — not an imitation of anything. Its refractive index is actually higher than diamond’s, which is why it flashes more spectral color, and its optics mean the sparkle never dulls with age. If you are weighing your center stone options, read how moissanite compares to a lab-grown diamond — many couples discover the extra fire is exactly what they wanted, at a fraction of the price. The value equation is simple: this stone lets your budget go toward the artistry of the setting, or toward the honeymoon.
A Band Drawn From Antique Filigree
The sculpted band is where the vintage character lives: graceful botanical details reminiscent of vines and antique filigree, set with delicate round moissanite accents that carry the sparkle down the shoulders. It sits naturally among our vintage moissanite engagement rings, and its flower-and-vine detailing will speak to anyone browsing our floral engagement rings. The elongated oval center completes the effect — lengthening the finger the way the best antique rings always did. See more shapes like it in our oval moissanite engagement rings.
Graded and Certified: GRA, D Color, VVS1
The center stone arrives GRA certified at D color and VVS1 clarity — colorless and effectively flawless to the eye. That is a documented grade, not a marketing phrase. And because moissanite is its own mineral with its own optical fingerprint, it reads as exactly what it is on gemological equipment; our guide to whether moissanite passes a diamond tester explains what a jeweler actually sees, and why that transparency is part of moissanite’s appeal.
Four Solid Metals, One Permanent Color
Pick solid 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or solid platinum, from the drop-down. 10K is the toughest and most affordable, 14K the classic everyday balance most couples choose, and 18K the richest in gold content. Platinum is naturally white, denser, and hypoallergenic — its color is permanent because it is the same metal all the way through. Every option belongs to our solid gold collection: real solid metal that will never turn your skin green. Our karat comparison guide makes the choice easy, and our moissanite wedding bands are the natural companions when the big day comes. Other gold colors are available on request.

Sizing & Care
Each ring is made to order in your exact size; measure at home with our find-your-size guide if you are unsure. Moissanite is wonderfully low-maintenance: warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, and a soft brush bring back full fire in under a minute, and at 9.25 Mohs the stone shrugs off daily wear. Store it apart from other jewelry to protect softer pieces, and take it off for heavy manual work to keep the filigree crisp. Ships free in the USA in a free luxury ring box, and every stone is conflict-free.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is moissanite a real gemstone?
Yes. Moissanite is silicon carbide, a genuine gemstone with its own name, chemistry, and optics — first discovered in a meteor crater. It is not an imitation diamond; it is a different stone that happens to out-sparkle one.
Why does moissanite sparkle more than diamond?
Moissanite’s refractive index and dispersion are both higher than diamond’s, so it bends and splits light more aggressively. The result is more rainbow fire — visible flashes of color, especially in sunlight.
Is moissanite durable enough for an engagement ring?
Absolutely. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale, moissanite is harder than sapphire and ruby and second only to diamond among ring-worthy stones. It resists scratching, chipping, and clouding through decades of daily wear.
What does GRA certified, D color, VVS1 mean?
The stone has been independently graded: D is the top of the colorless scale, and VVS1 means inclusions are so tiny they are barely findable under magnification. The certificate documents the quality rather than asking you to take our word for it.
Will it look fake or too sparkly?
In an oval cut of this size, moissanite reads as a beautifully lively colorless stone. Most people simply see an exceptional ring; only a gemologist with equipment could tell you which gem it is.
Will moissanite cloud or dull over time?
No. Unlike some diamond simulants, moissanite’s clarity and fire are permanent properties of the crystal. Normal cleaning to remove skin oils is all it ever needs to sparkle like day one.
How does the 6 x 8 mm oval look on the finger?
The elongated shape stretches along the finger and faces up generously for its size — a graceful, noticeable center that stays comfortable and practical for everyday wear.
Are the accent stones moissanite too?
Yes — the delicate round accents woven into the filigree band are moissanite as well, so the whole ring shares one consistent, lively sparkle.
Which metal should I choose?
10K white gold for maximum durability on a budget, 14K for the classic balance most customers pick, 18K for the highest gold content, or platinum for a naturally white, hypoallergenic metal with permanent color. All are solid, never hollow or layered.
Is this real solid gold?
Yes. Your ring is crafted in solid white gold in the karat you choose, or in solid platinum. The metal is identical all the way through, so the color cannot wear away and it will not turn your skin green.
Can I get it in yellow or rose gold?
Yes — the design is shown in white gold, but other gold colors are available on request. Reach out before ordering and we will set it up.
How long until it ships?
Every ring is made to order with an estimated production time of 2–6 weeks. Your ring is built for you, not boxed from inventory.
How do I make sure I order the right size?
Use our find-your-size guide linked above to measure at home in minutes. If you land between sizes, sizing up slightly is usually the more comfortable call.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
