A moss agate white gold ring with a woodland twirl band. The center is a natural oval moss agate, approximately 8 x 6 mm, held in a prong and scrollwork setting on a band that winds rather than runs straight. Lab-grown diamonds are set along the twist. Available in solid white gold or platinum.
The twirl band
Most engagement rings run a straight shank to the setting. This one doesn't — the band splits and winds, with scrollwork carrying up into the basket so the setting grows out of the band rather than sitting on top of it. It is a construction borrowed from Art Nouveau jewelry, where the whole point was that metal should look grown rather than assembled.
On a moss agate that logic is consistent rather than decorative. The stone already contains what looks like vegetation; a vine-form band reads as continuous with it. More in the same register across our nature-inspired engagement rings, and setting options compared in the best settings for moss agate rings.
Oval, and why it works here
An oval gives you more surface area than a round of equivalent carat weight, and it elongates the finger. On moss agate the extra surface matters more than usual — a bigger window means more of the dendritic pattern is visible, and pattern is the entire reason to choose this stone.
The soft curve of an oval also sits more naturally against a curving band than a sharp geometric cut would. If you are weighing shapes, our guide to the best cuts for moss agate compares oval against kite, hexagon and emerald.
Lab-grown diamonds, stated plainly
The accents here are lab-grown diamonds — real diamonds, chemically and optically identical to mined stones, produced in a controlled environment instead of extracted. They are not simulants and not moissanite. If you want the background on how they are made and how they hold value, we cover both in how lab-grown diamonds are made.
Every stone is different
Moss agate's green comes from mineral inclusions — usually chlorite or hornblende — that formed inside translucent chalcedony as it grew. Their density and branching vary stone to stone, so yours will share the green character of the moss agate in our photographs while carrying a pattern that is only its own.

Care
Moss agate is 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale — fine for daily wear, but softer than diamond or sapphire, so protect it from knocks and abrasive work. The openwork of a twirl band also collects more than a plain shank does, so it benefits from regular gentle cleaning.
Use warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners entirely — agate is porous and reacts badly to heat and vibration. See cleaning a moss agate ring safely and is moss agate durable for more.
Solid white gold and platinum both hold their color permanently — nothing here is plated. Browse the wider range in solid gold engagement rings.
Frequently asked questions
Is the moss agate natural?
Yes — natural green moss agate, mined and cut. Not lab-created and not simulated.
What are the accent stones?
Lab-grown diamonds. They are real diamonds, identical in chemistry and appearance to mined stones, grown in a controlled environment rather than extracted.
Will my stone look like the photos?
It will share the same green character and translucency, but every moss agate has its own inclusion pattern. Yours will be unique.
What is a twirl band?
A band that splits and winds around the finger rather than running straight, with scrollwork carrying up into the setting. The construction is drawn from Art Nouveau jewelry.
Is this solid gold or plated?
Solid — solid white gold in your chosen karat, or solid platinum. Never plated or gold-filled, so the color is permanent and will not turn your skin green.
Should I pick white gold or platinum?
White gold is lighter and more affordable. Platinum is denser and more substantial in the hand, naturally white rather than alloyed white, hypoallergenic, and never needs re-plating.
Which karat is best?
10K is the most durable and most affordable. 14K is the classic everyday balance and our most popular. 18K has the highest gold content.
How large is the center stone?
Approximately 8 x 6 mm, an oval cut.
Is moss agate durable enough for daily wear?
Yes, with sensible care. At 6.5–7 Mohs it handles everyday wear but should be removed for gardening, gym work and cleaning.
How do I clean an openwork band?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working gently into the scrollwork. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, which are unsafe for agate.
Does it come in yellow or rose gold?
Yes, on request. White gold and platinum are the standard options for this design — contact us for a quote on other colors.
Would this suit a non-traditional or woodland wedding?
That is exactly what it was designed for — a nature-led alternative to a classic solitaire, with organic stone character and a vine-form band.
✨ Production time
Every ring on this page is cast, set and finished for your order. Nothing is taken from stock.
- Made-to-order solid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end.

Shipping is added once your ring is finished. These are the options you will see at checkout:
- USPS Ground Advantage — free on every order
- FedEx Home Delivery® — $10
- FedEx 2Day® — $22

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.
AVAILABILITY
Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Limits depend on the width and design of the band. Spaces count toward the total.
• Women’s rings: up to 16 characters
• Men’s rings: up to 25 characters

Standard engraving is complimentary and set in Arial, chosen because it stays legible at very small sizes. These symbols are included at no extra cost:

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
