Some rings are bought; this one feels inherited. Our vintage oval lab grown diamond engagement ring sets a 6 × 8 mm IGI certified oval — graded D color, VVS1 clarity — into a sculpted band of trailing vines and floral detail, finished in solid 14K white gold. It carries the romance of an antique heirloom with a center stone documented to modern laboratory standards.
An Heirloom Silhouette With Papers
The design language here is pure antique jewelry: organic vine and floral details flow along the band the way they do on the Victorian and Edwardian pieces that inspire our vintage and antique engagement rings. Delicate round lab-grown diamonds are worked into that intricate framework, so light moves along the shoulders before it ever reaches the center stone. If you love botanical detail, the same sensibility runs through our nature-inspired engagement rings — but few of them pair it with a fully certified diamond center.
Why the Oval Cut Earns Its Following
An oval gives you the brilliance of a round with a longer, more graceful footprint. The elongated outline stretches visually along the finger, wears lower than many high-set rounds, and reads larger than its measurements suggest. The 6 × 8 mm center is the sweet spot of that effect — present without being showy. It is the reason oval engagement rings have become the defining shape of modern proposals, here filtered through a vintage lens.
IGI Certified, D Color, VVS1 Clarity
The center stone is a lab-grown diamond — a real diamond, identical to a mined one in composition, hardness, and fire, as our complete guide to lab-grown diamonds explains. It is independently graded by IGI at D color, the highest grade on the colorless scale, and VVS1 clarity, meaning inclusions are so slight they are difficult to detect even under magnification. Curious how a stone like this comes to be? Read how lab-grown diamonds are made — the process is genuinely fascinating. And because growing a diamond removes the cost of mining, a D/VVS1 stone of this quality is attainable in a way its mined equivalent simply is not; our lab-grown diamond price guide breaks down why. Explore the rest of our lab-grown diamond engagement rings to see the range.
Solid White Gold or Platinum — Your Choice
Choose solid 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or solid platinum, from the drop-down. 10K is the most durable and most affordable; 14K is our most popular balance of strength and gold content; 18K carries the highest gold content for the most luxurious feel. Platinum is the premium option — naturally white, denser, and hypoallergenic, with a color that is permanent because the metal is the same all the way through. Every option is genuine solid metal from our solid gold collection, and it will never turn your skin green. Undecided? Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide settles it in five minutes. Yellow and rose gold are available on request, and a band from our diamond wedding bands completes the set beautifully.

Sizing & Care
Every ring is made to order in your exact size — if you are unsure, our find-your-size guide shows you how to measure at home in minutes. Care is simple: a soak in warm water with mild dish soap and a gentle scrub with a soft brush restores full sparkle. At Mohs 10, the diamond itself is the hardest gem material there is; store the ring separately so it does not scratch softer jewelry, and remove it for heavy lifting to protect the setting. Your ring arrives in a free luxury ring box with free USA shipping.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a lab-grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. A lab-grown diamond is chemically, physically, and optically identical to a mined diamond — pure crystallized carbon at Mohs 10 hardness. The only difference is origin: it was grown above ground rather than extracted from it.
What does IGI certified mean?
The International Gemological Institute is one of the world’s leading independent diamond grading laboratories. IGI certification means this ring’s center diamond was examined and graded by IGI gemologists — its color, clarity, and cut quality are independently verified, not just claimed.
What do D color and VVS1 clarity mean?
D is the highest grade on the diamond color scale — fully colorless, ice-white. VVS1 means “very, very slightly included, first degree”: any inclusions are so minute that even a trained grader struggles to find them under 10x magnification. Together they describe a top-tier stone.
How does a 6 x 8 mm oval wear on the hand?
Beautifully. The elongated outline visually lengthens the finger, and an oval’s spread means it faces up generously for its measurements. It is a noticeable, elegant center that still suits everyday wear.
Are the accent stones real diamonds too?
Yes — the delicate round accents set into the vine band are lab-grown diamonds as well, so the entire ring carries genuine diamond brilliance from shoulder to center.
Which metal should I choose?
10K white gold is the most durable and budget-friendly; 14K is our most popular choice for its balance of strength and gold content; 18K has the highest gold content for a richer feel. All are solid gold through and through.
Is platinum worth the upgrade?
If you want a naturally white metal that keeps its color forever with zero maintenance, yes. Platinum is denser, noticeably heavier on the hand, and hypoallergenic — the traditional choice for heirloom pieces.
Will this ring hold up to everyday wear?
Yes. Diamond is the hardest natural material on Earth at Mohs 10, and solid gold or platinum settings are built for daily life. Sensible habits — removing it for gym sessions or heavy yard work — will keep the setting pristine for decades.
Will it pass a diamond tester?
Yes. Because a lab-grown diamond is a real diamond, it registers as diamond on standard thermal and electrical testers — unlike simulants, there is nothing to “pass off.”
Can I order it in yellow or rose gold?
Yes. The listing is shown in white gold, but yellow and rose gold are available on request — contact us before ordering and we will arrange it.
How long does production take?
Each ring is made to order; estimated production time is 2–6 weeks before shipping. It is crafted for you from scratch, not pulled from a shelf.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our find-your-size guide linked above — it walks you through measuring an existing ring or your finger at home. If you are between sizes, most customers size up for comfort.
What comes with the ring?
Every order includes a free luxury ring box and free USA shipping, and every stone we set is conflict-free. It arrives ready for the moment.
✨ Production time

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
