Two-Piece Wrap Set

Sizes 4–11
Two Rings, One Rose Garden
Rose Solitaire
A four-prong oval lab-created blue opal with green and violet play of color, a sculpted rose on each shoulder, and a small round simulated diamond at the base of each.
Vine Wrap Band
A contoured wrap band whose two arms pass on either side of the center ring. Each arm carries a line of pavé simulated diamonds and ends in a cluster of royal-blue lab-created sapphire marquise leaves with a round white accent.
A rose carved on each shoulder of the center ring, a vine of marquise leaves climbing the band that wraps around it. The two rings are shaped to close together, and each one wears well alone. The design sits in the dark-romance lane we cover in gothic wedding rings and black rings for women; if you are looking past a plain solitaire, non-traditional engagement rings and fantasy engagement rings map the wider field.
The Opal
The center is lab-created opal: grown with the same silica structure as natural opal, so it shows true play of color rather than a printed shimmer. This one is a saturated blue with green and violet flashes, cut as a 6 × 8 mm oval cabochon so the color moves as the hand turns. It is the October birthstone, and the sapphire leaves around it are September's.
Our guide to opal engagement rings covers how the stone holds up day to day, and opal meaning covers its history and what each color is said to stand for. For the sapphire, sapphire engagement rings is the place to start.
Metal and Stones
Both rings are solid 925 sterling silver with a black ruthenium finish, a platinum-group metal that settles to a deep gunmetal rather than a flat black. Against it, the blue reads deeper and the white pavé reads brighter than either would on polished silver.
The center oval is lab-created opal. The blue marquise leaves are lab-created sapphire, chemically the same corundum as a mined sapphire. The white pavé and round accents are simulated diamond (cubic zirconia). Our moissanite vs cubic zirconia post explains what that material does well and where it falls short of a mined stone.

Care
Opal is 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale and porous, so it needs more care than the sapphire and pavé around it. Put the ring on after perfume and lotion, not before. Take it off for swimming, showering, the gym and gardening. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, then dry before storing; no ultrasonic cleaners. No silver polishing cloths or abrasive compounds, which thin the black ruthenium finish, and keep the set away from household chemicals. Our engagement ring care guide and how to clean jewelry at home cover the rest.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the opal real?
It is lab-created opal: grown with the same silica structure as natural opal, so it has true play of color, but made in a lab rather than mined. The blue leaves are lab-created sapphire and the white stones are simulated diamond, which is cubic zirconia.
How many rings come in the set?
Two. The rose solitaire and a wrap band whose two arms close around it. Both ship together in one box.
How big is the center stone?
6 × 8 mm, oval cabochon, held by four prongs between the two sculpted roses.
Is opal a birthstone?
Yes. Opal is the October birthstone, and the sapphire leaves are the September birthstone.
Is opal hard enough for everyday wear?
Opal is 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale and porous, so it is softer than most ring stones. It is fine for daily wear if you take it off for water, lotion and rough work; the sapphire and pavé around it are much harder.
Will my opal look exactly like the photo?
Close, but not identical. Lab-created opal still shows its own pattern of color flashes, so the blue, green and violet will move a little differently on every stone.
How dark is the black ruthenium finish?
Ruthenium settles to a deep gunmetal rather than a flat jet black. That slight reflectivity is what keeps the roses and the vine legible instead of flattening them into a silhouette.
What are the rings made of?
Solid 925 sterling silver with a black ruthenium finish. No brass or base metal.
Can I wear the rings separately?
Yes. The center ring stands on its own as a rose solitaire, and the wrap band wears alone as a pavé vine ring.
Do the two rings sit flush?
Yes. The two arms of the wrap band are shaped to sit on either side of the center ring, so the set closes together without a gap.
What sizes are available?
Sizes 4 through 11, including every half size. Both rings are made to the same size.
Can I have them engraved?
Yes. Engraving is available on the inner band, up to 16 characters, and can be added as an option at checkout.
Are the stones ethically sourced?
Yes. All Aquamarise stones are conflict-free and responsibly sourced, and every order arrives in a free luxury velvet jewelry box.
