Warm rose gold against storm-dark stone: this rutilated quartz engagement ring set pairs a princess-cut natural black quartz — shot through with needle-fine rutile — with a perfectly matched wedding band, both in solid rose gold. Sold as a two-piece set, it is a bold geometric answer to the classic bridal stack, made for a love unlike any other.
The Engagement Ring
A princess-cut natural black rutilated quartz, 5.0 x 5.0 mm, with your choice of moissanite or natural diamond accents on a slender rose gold band.
The Wedding Band
A perfectly matched solid rose gold band, made in the same karat and size, completing the set as one harmonious bridal look.
Rutile Meets Rose Gold
Black rutilated quartz is a stone with its own weather system — fine metallic needles of rutile crystallized inside dark quartz, so every stone carries a different storm. Set against the blush warmth of solid rose gold, the contrast turns painterly: cool shadow, warm frame. It is the kind of pairing that makes strangers ask about your ring. Undecided on metal color? Our guide to yellow vs white vs rose gold lays out the differences, and you can browse more blush-toned designs in our rose gold rings.
The Princess Cut
The square princess cut gives the quartz crisp, modern architecture — four sharp corners and a clean face that shows off the rutile threads like ink strokes under glass. It reads strong and contemporary where an oval reads soft. See how the shape carries across our princess cut engagement rings, or explore every stone we cut this way in our rutilated quartz engagement rings.
Your Karat, Your Accents
Select your rose gold karat from the drop-down — every option is solid rose gold. 10K is the hardest and most affordable, with excellent everyday durability; 14K is our most popular all-rounder, balancing rich color, strength, and value; 18K has the richest, warmest rose hue. Then choose your accents: moissanite (D color, VVS1 clarity, 9 Mohs) for maximum fire, or natural diamonds (G/H color, eye-clean I1, conflict-free, 10 Mohs) for heirloom pedigree. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide makes the karat call easy.
A Set That Arrives Finished
Because the wedding band is designed with the engagement ring — same karat, same size, same hand — the set arrives as one resolved composition instead of a pairing you have to hunt for later. Both rings are handmade to order over 3 to 5 weeks, with complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters. Sizing & Care
Both rings are made in your chosen size, so measure with our ring size guide first — between sizers and mandrels, sizing can vary by up to half a size from jeweler to jeweler. Quartz sits at 6–7 on the Mohs scale: clean the set with mild soap, warm water, and a soft brush, pat dry, and skip ultrasonic or steam cleaners. Slip the rings off for gym sessions and rough work, and store them apart from harder stones to keep the princess cut’s corners and polish crisp.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does this set include?
It is sold as a two-piece set: the princess-cut rutilated quartz engagement ring and a perfectly matched solid rose gold wedding band, made in the same karat and size.
Is the center stone natural?
Yes. The princess-cut center is natural black rutilated quartz, and the dramatic needle inclusions inside it formed in the earth, making every stone one of a kind.
What are the threads inside the stone?
They are needles of rutile, a metallic mineral that grows naturally through quartz. Each stone carries its own pattern, which is exactly why the stone is prized.
Will my stone match the photos exactly?
Very close in size and tone, but the rutile pattern is unique to each stone, so your ring will have inclusions no other ring shares.
Is the rose gold solid or plated?
Solid rose gold in every karat we offer: 10K, 14K, or 18K, precious metal all the way through.
Which karat should I choose?
10K is the hardest and most affordable with excellent everyday durability, 14K is the most popular balance of color, strength, and value, and 18K has the richest, warmest rose hue.
Should I pick moissanite or natural diamond accents?
Moissanite accents are D color, VVS1 clarity, with exceptional fire at a friendlier price. Natural diamond accents are G/H color, eye-clean I1, and conflict-free. Both elevate the dark center; the choice is budget and sentiment.
Why choose a princess cut for this stone?
The square face and sharp corners show the rutile needles like ink strokes under glass, giving the organic stone a crisp, modern geometry.
Is quartz durable enough for daily wear?
At 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale, it wears well with sensible care: remove the rings for rough work, clean them gently, and store them away from harder stones.
How do I clean the set?
Mild soap, warm water, and a soft brush, then pat dry. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, which can stress natural inclusions.
Can the rings be engraved?
Yes, complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included.
How long does the set take to make?
The set is made to order and takes 3 to 5 weeks to be handmade for you. Requested modifications may adjust the timeline and pricing.
Are other gemstone options available?
Yes, different gemstone options are available on request; contact us for a custom quote. An optional appraisal can also be selected from the drop-down.

Standard laser engraving is complimentary and set in Arial (print font), chosen because it stays legible at very small sizes. These symbols are included at no additional cost:

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Find my ring size link beside the Add to Cart button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
