This mystic topaz engagement ring set centers an oval mystic topaz (6×8mm, ~1.25ct) — a topaz with a mesmerizing rainbow play of green, violet and blue — framed by sculpted leaves with lab-grown emerald accents, in solid white gold. The iridescent, color-shifting center makes it one of the most magical, fantasy-coded engagement rings we offer, a true one-of-a-kind for partners who want color and wonder over a plain solitaire.
About mystic topaz — where the rainbow comes from
Honesty first: mystic topaz is a genuine natural topaz that has been finished with an ultra-thin coating, which is what creates its signature rainbow iridescence — those shifting green, violet, and blue tones. The topaz itself is real and natural (8 on the Mohs scale); the multicolor effect is a surface treatment rather than a natural body color. That coating is durable for everyday wear but benefits from a little care: avoid abrasive cleaners, ultrasonic and steam cleaners, and harsh chemicals, which can dull the finish over time. Our full explainer on what mystic topaz is goes deeper on how that thin-film coating produces the effect. If you love color-forward, unconventional rings, our non-traditional engagement ring guide is a great starting point.
What's in the set
Engagement Ring
Oval mystic topaz center (6×8mm, ~1.25ct) with sculpted leaf detailing and lab-grown emerald accents. Solid white gold.
Matching Band
Coordinating leaf-motif band designed to sit alongside the engagement ring. Matching solid white gold.
Sold as a two-piece set; each ring can also be worn on its own, and a men's matching band can be made on request. Explore more emerald engagement rings and other botanical styles in our nature-inspired engagement rings.
The accents: lab-grown emerald
The green leaf accents are lab-grown emeralds — real emeralds grown in controlled lab conditions rather than mined, with excellent color and clarity at a more accessible price. We disclose the lab origin clearly. Their green picks up the tones that flash through the mystic topaz, tying the whole botanical design together. Our emerald buying guide covers how lab-grown emerald compares to mined.
Why solid white gold
This set is solid white gold — the metal itself, not plating or vermeil over a base metal. The neutral white lets the topaz's full rainbow read clearly without competing color, and it won't wear off or turn your skin green. Choose your karat or platinum below; the same design can be made in yellow or rose gold on request.
Choose your metal & karat
Select your metal from the drop-down — every ring in this set is solid precious metal throughout, never plated. Each option keeps the same neutral white backdrop that lets the mystic topaz's rainbow read clearly.
- 10K white gold — 41.7% gold. The hardest and most scratch-resistant gold option, and the most affordable way into solid gold.
- 14K white gold — 58.3% gold. Our most popular choice: a lasting balance of purity, durability, and bright white color.
- 18K white gold — 75% gold. The purest, most luxurious gold option, with a rich, substantial feel.
- Platinum — about 95% pure, naturally white, hypoallergenic, and the most durable and enduring choice of all.
Not sure which to pick? Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K gold comparison guide breaks down the trade-offs in durability, color, and price.

Sizing & care
Mystic topaz is hard (8 Mohs) but its rainbow coating deserves gentle handling: clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, and avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, abrasive polishes, and harsh chemicals so the iridescence stays vivid. Both rings should be ordered in the same size since they're worn together; please reference our sizing guide before ordering. An optional written appraisal can be added from the drop-down menu (non-refundable once completed).

Mystic topaz engagement ring FAQs
What is mystic topaz?
Mystic topaz is a genuine natural topaz finished with an ultra-thin coating that creates its rainbow iridescence — shifting green, violet, and blue tones. The topaz is real and natural; the multicolor effect is a surface treatment rather than a natural body color.
Will the rainbow color wear off?
The coating is durable for everyday wear and stays vivid for years with gentle care. To protect it, avoid abrasive cleaners, ultrasonic and steam cleaners, and harsh chemicals, which can dull the finish over time.
Are the emerald accents real?
Yes — lab-grown emeralds: real emeralds grown in controlled lab conditions rather than mined, with excellent color and clarity at a more accessible price. We disclose the lab origin clearly.
Which metal should I choose?
All gold options are solid white gold in the same neutral tone: 10K is the hardest and most affordable, 14K is our most popular balance of purity and durability, and 18K has the highest gold content. Platinum is naturally white, hypoallergenic, and the most durable of all. See our karat comparison guide for a full breakdown.
Is this real solid white gold?
Yes. The gold options are solid white gold throughout — the metal itself, not plating or vermeil — and platinum is solid platinum. The color is permanent, won't wear off, and won't turn skin green.
What's included in the set?
Two rings designed to be worn together: the leaf-motif mystic topaz engagement ring and a coordinating matching band. A men's matching band can be made on request.
How long does it take to make?
Made to order — please allow about 2–3 weeks. Requested modifications may adjust the timeline, and we'll confirm everything before production begins.
Every ring on this page is made to order — cast, set and finished individually for you. Nothing is taken from stock.
Production timeSolid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end of that range.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Find my ring size link beside the Add to Cart button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
