Faelyn is a two-piece kite engagement ring set in gold. A 7 × 10 mm kite-cut lab-created white opal sits in a milgrain bezel edged with filigree on the center ring, with a line of simulated diamonds down each shoulder, and a chevron band set with simulated diamonds nests under its lower point. 14K yellow gold vermeil over solid 925 sterling silver.

Two-Piece Nesting Set
14K Yellow Gold Vermeil
Sizes 4–11
Two Rings, One Kite
Kite Bezel Ring
A 7 × 10 mm kite opal in a full bezel with a milgrain edge and a band of pierced filigree around it, on a slim shank with round simulated diamonds pavé-set down each shoulder.
Chevron Band
A V-shaped band set with a line of round simulated diamonds, cut to follow the lower point of the kite so the two rings lock together without a gap.
Faelyn is a fae name for a fae shape: the kite points up the finger and the chevron repeats its lower angle, so worn together the set reads as one long diamond-shaped ring. Worn apart, the center ring is a bezel kite solitaire and the band is a plain chevron stacker. The fairy engagement rings guide covers the lane this shape belongs to, and non-traditional engagement rings covers the wider field.
The Opal
The center is lab-created white opal: grown silica with the same stacked-sphere structure as natural opal, which is what produces the play of color. The base is milky white and the flashes run blue, green and pink as the ring moves. It is cut as a 7 × 10 mm kite and held in a full bezel rather than prongs, which protects the opal's edges and gives the stone a clean metal outline. Opal is the October birthstone.
Our opal engagement rings guide covers how opal holds up as a daily ring, opal meaning covers its history, and the October birthstone guide has more on opal as a gift.
Metal and Stones
Both rings are 14K yellow gold vermeil: real 14K gold over solid 925 sterling silver. The warm gold brings out the pink and orange in the opal's flash. Our guide to caring for vermeil jewelry covers the finish, and what is gold vermeil explains what sets vermeil apart.
The center kite is lab-created opal. The small round stones on both rings are simulated diamond (cubic zirconia). Our moissanite vs cubic zirconia post explains what that material does well and where it falls short of a mined stone.

Aquamarise vermeil is real gold over sterling silver 925, the rich golden look you love at a price that makes it easy to say yes. Keep it luminous with a little care: remove before showering, swimming or exercise, avoid contact with lotions and fragrance, and store dry between wears.

Care
Opal is 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale and porous, so put the ring on after perfume and lotion and keep it clear of hard knocks; the bezel does most of the protecting. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, then dry before storing. No silver polishing cloths or abrasive compounds, which thin the gold vermeil; avoid ultrasonic cleaners, chlorine and household chemicals for the same reason. Take the set off for the gym, swimming and heavy cleaning, and store it in its box rather than loose.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the opal real?
It is lab-created opal: grown silica with the same structure and play of color as natural opal, made in a lab rather than mined. It is not glass or resin. The small white stones are simulated diamond, which is cubic zirconia.
How many rings come in the set?
Two. The kite bezel ring and a chevron band shaped to nest under it. Both ship together in one box.
How big is the center stone?
7 × 10 mm, kite cut, set in a full bezel with the point toward the fingertip.
What colors does the opal flash?
A milky white base with blue, green and pink flashes that move as the ring turns. Each stone's pattern is its own.
Is opal a birthstone?
Yes. Opal is the October birthstone.
Is opal durable enough for everyday wear?
Lab-created opal is 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, softer than sapphire or moissanite. The full bezel protects its edges, but it should come off for the gym, gardening and heavy cleaning, and stay away from chemicals.
Is it real gold?
Yes. Both rings are 14K yellow gold vermeil: a layer of real 14K gold over a solid 925 sterling silver core. There is no brass or base metal under it.
Will it turn my skin green?
No. The core is solid sterling silver and the surface is real gold, so there is no copper alloy to react with skin.
Can I wear the rings separately?
Yes. The kite ring stands on its own as a bezel solitaire, and the chevron band wears alone as a stacker.
Do the two rings sit flush?
Yes. The chevron is cut to the angle of the kite's lower point, so the band locks under the center ring without a gap.
What sizes are available?
Sizes 4 through 11, including every half size. Both rings are made to the same size.
Can I have them engraved?
Yes. Engraving is available on the inner band, up to 16 characters, and can be added as an option at checkout.
How do I care for the vermeil?
Put the ring on last, after lotion and fragrance, and take it off for swimming, showering and the gym. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, never a silver polishing cloth or an ultrasonic cleaner, and store it dry in its box.
Are the stones ethically sourced?
Yes. All Aquamarise stones are conflict-free and responsibly sourced, and every order arrives in a free luxury velvet jewelry box.
