An open leaf-and-vine band that wraps around an engagement ring instead of sitting beside it. The two arms curl away from the center in carved leaves and scrollwork, each shoulder set with three moissanite. Solid 925 sterling silver with a black ruthenium finish, so the white stones sit against gunmetal rather than bright silver.

What an Enhancer Actually Does
Frames the Center
The open front leaves a gap that the engagement ring sits into, so the leaves close around the center stone rather than stacking below it.
Adds Contrast
Against a dark band the center stone reads brighter than it does alone. The metal recedes and the stones carry the light.
Wears Alone
It is a complete ring in its own right — an open, stone-set band that works stacked, worn solo, or on a different finger entirely.
You will also see this style called a ring wrap, a ring jacket or a ring guard. They describe the same object: a band shaped to receive another ring rather than sit flush against it. Ours is part of the Carmilla family, which takes its name from the 1872 gothic novella — the vampire story that arrived twenty-six years before Dracula. The leaf-and-scroll carving runs through every piece in the family.
Sizing — Read This First
An enhancer has to be the same size as the ring it wraps. It is not a sizing aid and will not tighten a loose ring; order the size of your engagement ring, not a size up or down. If you are buying it to wear on its own, order your normal size for that finger.
Sizes 4 through 11 including every half size. Our guide to caring for an engagement ring covers living with two rings on one finger, and what hand an engagement ring goes on is worth a look if you are still deciding.
The Moissanite
Moissanite is silicon carbide, lab-grown, and at 9.25 on the Mohs scale it is harder than every gemstone except diamond. Its refractive index is higher than diamond's, which is why it throws more rainbow fire — and against a dark finish that fire is the whole point. Our guide to moissanite meaning covers the stone in more depth, and moissanite versus cubic zirconia explains why the two are not interchangeable.
Six stones in total, three on each shoulder, prong-set between the carved leaves.
Metal
Solid 925 sterling silver with a black ruthenium finish — a platinum-group metal that settles to a deep gunmetal rather than a flat black. The slight reflectivity is what keeps the carved leaves readable instead of flattening them into a silhouette.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size should I order?
The same size as the engagement ring it will wrap. An enhancer sits alongside the ring on the same finger, so the two must match. It is not a sizing aid and will not tighten a loose ring.
Will it fit my existing engagement ring?
It fits most solitaires and slim-shouldered rings with a raised center stone. It will not close properly around a very wide band or a ring with broad, stone-set shoulders. If you are unsure, send us a photo before ordering.
Is this the same as a ring guard or ring wrap?
Yes — enhancer, wrap, jacket and guard all describe a band shaped to receive another ring rather than sit flush against it. We call it an enhancer because that is what it does: it frames a center stone rather than protecting it.
Can I wear it on its own?
Yes. It is a complete open band and works worn solo, stacked with other rings, or on a different finger.
How dark is the black ruthenium finish?
Ruthenium finishes to a deep gunmetal rather than a flat jet black. The slight reflectivity is what keeps the carved leaves and scrollwork visible instead of flattening them.
Are the stones real?
Yes. They are moissanite — silicon carbide, a genuine gemstone that is lab-grown rather than mined. It is not a diamond and not cubic zirconia; it is its own mineral, harder than everything except diamond.
What is it made of?
Solid 925 sterling silver throughout, with a black ruthenium finish. No brass or base metal.
Can it be resized?
Resizing an open band is limited, because changing the diameter also changes how the two arms meet. We keep adjustments within one size, and the ring is refinished afterwards. Resizing starts from $45.
Can I have it engraved?
Yes. Engraving is available on the inner band, up to 16 characters, and can be added as an option at checkout.
Are the stones ethically sourced?
Yes. All Aquamarise stones are conflict-free and responsibly sourced, and every order arrives in a free luxury velvet jewelry box.
