The Onyx
A single wide channel of black onyx, ground flush and polished to a glass surface. It takes up most of the face and gives the ring its weight.
The Meteorite
Crushed fragments of iron meteorite in a narrow channel above the onyx, silver-gray with the crystalline texture of nickel-iron that cooled in space over millions of years.
The Gold Rails
Three thin polished gold lines, one between the two inlays and one at each edge, frame the black and the gray so neither runs into the other.

The Materials
Black onyx is natural chalcedony, 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, opaque and unbanded, cut as a continuous inlay and sealed at the seams. The meteorite is genuine iron meteorite, crushed into small fragments, set in clear resin and ground level with the metal; the flecks vary in size and the pattern is unique to each band. Yellow Gold Tungsten
The band is tungsten carbide with a yellow gold finish bonded to the metal by ion plating, which is a different thing from the thin electroplate on a fashion ring: it is a hard ceramic-metal layer that takes daily wear well and does not tarnish. It is not solid gold, and the listing price reflects that. Heavy abrasion over years can show at the edges, and the color cannot be re-plated at home, so treat the band like any polished ring rather than a tool. Why Tungsten
Tungsten carbide sits around 8.5–9 on the Mohs scale, several times harder than gold or titanium, so the finish still looks like this after years of daily work where a precious-metal band would have gone soft with scratches. It is also heavy in the hand, which most people read as quality.
The trade-off is worth knowing before you buy: tungsten cannot be resized, and it cannot be bent. Under enough force it fractures rather than deforming. That is also a safety feature, since a tungsten ring can be cracked off in an emergency in seconds. Sizing
Sizes 7 through 13, including every half size. Tungsten cannot be resized, so ordering the right size matters more here than on a silver or gold band. Comfort fit means the inside of the band is domed rather than flat, which makes it slide on more easily; many people find they need a quarter to a half size smaller than in a standard-fit ring. Care
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry. Skip polishing compounds and silver cloths, which are abrasive. Keep the ring out of chlorinated pools and away from bleach and solvents, which attack the resin holding the inlay, and keep the ring dry: the meteorite is iron and will oxidize if it is soaked repeatedly, so take it off for swimming, showers and dishwashing. Onyx is porous, so keep it away from bleach as well. Take it off for heavy lifting: tungsten resists scratches, but a hard impact against concrete or steel can crack it. What does comfort fit mean?
The inside of the band is gently domed instead of flat, so less surface touches your finger. It slides on more easily and runs slightly large, so many people take a quarter to a half size smaller.
Will it scratch?
Barely. Tungsten carbide is 8.5 to 9 on the Mohs scale, harder than steel and several times harder than gold. A polished surface shows fingerprints and very fine marks, which wipe off; deep scratches are unlikely.
Can it crack?
Yes, under a hard enough impact. Tungsten is hard rather than tough, so it fractures instead of bending. That also means the ring can be removed in an emergency in seconds.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Tungsten carbide is hypoallergenic and contains no nickel.
Is this only for men?
No. It is listed as a men's band because 8mm is a width most men choose, but plenty of people wear a wide band regardless of gender. Sizes start at 7.
