Some rings look inherited the day they arrive. This amethyst and diamond engagement ring sets a 6 x 8 mm oval lab-grown diamond — IGI certified, D color, VVS1 — between sprays of natural purple amethyst on a leaf-sculpted band, a vintage-inspired composition in solid white gold or platinum that feels like a family story starting rather than ending.
Colorless Fire, Violet Frame
Purple has crowned royalty for two millennia, and it earns its place here: the natural amethyst accents wrap the colorless center in soft violet, making the diamond look brighter by contrast and the ring unmistakably its own. Amethyst is February’s birthstone — a lovely coincidence if your story touches that month; browse our February birthstone collection or read the purple gemstones guide to see why the color endures.
A Band That Grew, Not Just Formed
The band’s sculpted curves borrow from vintage floral jewelry — leaves and vines rendered in high-polish precious metal, the kind of detailing usually found in estate cases. It reads romantic without costume drama, sitting comfortably beside our other leaf engagement rings and the broader vintage and antique-style engagement rings collection.
The Center: Certified and Genuine
The oval center is a lab-grown diamond — a real diamond, crystallized carbon at Mohs 10, indistinguishable from a mined stone by chemistry or sparkle — and it arrives IGI certified at D color and VVS1 clarity, the rarest end of both scales. The oval cut stretches its brilliance along the finger for a soft, elongating effect. Still curious what "lab-grown" means in practice? Our article on whether lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds answers it plainly, and our lab-grown vs natural diamond comparison covers the price logic. See more certified designs in our lab-grown diamond engagement rings.
Solid White Gold or Platinum
Choose solid 10K white gold for the hardest, most affordable setting, 14K for the best-selling balance of strength and purity, 18K for the richest gold content, or platinum — naturally white, denser in hand, and hypoallergenic. The white color is permanent in every option. Yellow and rose gold are available on request, and our karat comparison guide helps you decide.

Sizing & Care
Check your size with our ring size guide before ordering — measurements can differ by up to half a size between jewelers’ tools. The diamond center is effectively indestructible in daily life, while the natural amethyst accents (around Mohs 7) prefer gentler treatment: warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, no harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners, and store it away from prolonged direct sunlight to keep the violet vivid. Ships free within the USA in a free luxury ring box.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the amethysts natural or lab-created?
Natural. The purple accent stones are genuine natural amethyst — quartz colored by traces of iron — so each ring carries its own subtly individual shade of violet.
Is the center stone a real diamond?
Yes. A lab-grown diamond is a genuine diamond — the same crystallized carbon, the same Mohs 10 hardness, the same fire as a mined stone. Only its origin differs, which is why it costs dramatically less.
What does the IGI certificate document?
The International Gemological Institute independently verifies the center diamond's D color and VVS1 clarity — the top of the color scale and a near-flawless clarity grade — so the quality is confirmed by a third party, not just claimed.
Why choose an oval center?
The oval delivers round-brilliant sparkle in an elongated outline, so it flatters the finger, hides inclusions well, and looks larger face-up than a round diamond of equal weight — a favorite of vintage design for good reason.
How does the amethyst change the look of the diamond?
Contrast. Violet sits opposite the diamond's colorless white, so the amethyst accents make the D-color center read even icier while giving the ring a romantic identity no all-white setting can match.
Is amethyst durable enough for an engagement ring?
As accent stones, yes. Amethyst rates about 7 on the Mohs scale — hard enough for daily wear in protected side settings. Just avoid harsh chemicals and knocks, and clean gently with soap and water.
Is this ring genuinely vintage?
It is vintage-inspired, not antique: the leaf-and-floral band design draws on estate jewelry of past eras but is made new for you, in solid precious metal, with a certified modern center stone.
What is the significance of amethyst?
Amethyst is February's birthstone and a stone long tied to clarity of mind and calm devotion — royal purple without royal pricing. It makes the ring especially meaningful for February birthdays and anniversaries.
Which metal should I choose?
10K white gold is the hardest and most affordable, 14K is our best-selling balance of durability and purity, and 18K carries the richest gold content. Platinum is naturally white, heavier, and hypoallergenic — ideal for sensitive skin.
Can I order it in yellow or rose gold?
Yes — yellow and rose gold are available on request in the same karats. Contact us before ordering and we will set up your preferred metal color.
Will the white color of the metal last?
Yes. Solid white gold and platinum are white throughout the entire alloy, so the color is permanent — and it will not turn your skin green.
How long does production take?
Each ring is made to order with an estimated production time of 2 to 6 weeks — the sculpted leafwork and stone-matching are done by hand.
What comes with the ring?
Your ring arrives with the center diamond's IGI certification, a free luxury ring box, and free shipping within the USA. Every stone is conflict-free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
