An elongated silhouette, a certified center, and a color the jewelry world is only beginning to catch up with: this oval cut gray moissanite ring sets a certified 6.0 x 9.0 mm stone in solid 14K white gold — 10K, 18K, and platinum available — flanked by D color, VVS1 clarity moissanite accents in pear and round cuts.
Why the oval cut earns its reputation
The oval is the shape that flatters twice: it elongates the finger it sits on, and its rounded facets swallow light from every angle, so the stone stays lively even in dim rooms. On a gray moissanite, that constant motion matters — the smoky body color shifts from graphite to silver as the light moves, giving the ring a depth a static cut would flatten. The 6.0 x 9.0 mm proportions hit the classic 1.5:1 oval ratio that our oval moissanite engagement rings collection is built around.
The accent stones do quiet architectural work here. Pear-cut side stones taper the shoulders and stretch the silhouette; round accents fill the gaps with white fire. Together they frame the gray center the way a gallery frames a painting — with contrast, not competition.
A certified center stone
The gray moissanite at the heart of this ring is certified, and its accent stones are graded D color and VVS1 clarity — the top of the colorless scale with inclusions invisible even under magnification. Moissanite itself is a genuine lab-grown gemstone: silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with fire that exceeds a diamond’s. If you are weighing it against a lab diamond, our comparison of moissanite vs lab-grown diamond lays out the honest trade-offs.
The case for gray
Gray is the rare stone color that behaves like a neutral and photographs like a statement. It is a sophisticated alternative to a traditional white stone — ethical, conflict-free, durable enough for daily wear at 9–9.25 Mohs, and full of the depth and character that the modern gray gemstone trend is built on. Because it never fights with other colors, it wears as easily with denim as with a wedding dress, which is exactly what a ring worn every day for decades needs to do.
Solid metal, four ways
Every ring is made to order in the metal you select from the drop-down: 10K white gold, the most durable and affordable; 14K white gold, the classic balance of strength and gold content and our default; 18K white gold, the highest gold content for a richer feel; or platinum, a naturally white, denser, hypoallergenic metal. All four are solid through and through — this is fine jewelry construction from our solid gold rings workshop, built for heirloom longevity. Undecided? The 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide compares them in plain language, and other gold colors are available on request.

Sizing & care
Ring sizing varies slightly from jeweler to jeweler, so measure with our ring size guide before you order. Day to day, this ring asks very little: moissanite’s hardness shrugs off ordinary wear, so an occasional bath in warm water with mild soap and a soft brush keeps the facets bright. Remove it for heavy lifting or abrasive cleaning, store it in its free luxury ring box, and it will look the way it did on day one for years. Free USA shipping is included.
Frequently asked questions
Is the center stone certified?
Yes. The oval gray moissanite center stone is certified, and the accent moissanites are graded D color and VVS1 clarity.
Is gray moissanite a real gemstone?
Yes. Moissanite is a genuine lab-grown gemstone made of silicon carbide. It is not a fake diamond or a simulant — it is its own stone, with more fire than diamond and a hardness of 9–9.25 on the Mohs scale.
How big does a 6x9 mm oval look on the finger?
A 6.0 x 9.0 mm oval has the elongated footprint of a substantial center stone, and because the oval cut spreads its surface area wide, it tends to look larger face-up than a round stone of comparable dimensions.
Why choose gray over a colorless stone?
Gray offers a sophisticated alternative to a traditional white center: the same brilliance, delivered through a smoky, multidimensional color with unique depth and character. It reads modern without being loud, and it flatters every skin tone and metal.
What do the pear and round accent stones do?
The pear cuts taper the shoulders of the ring and visually elongate the silhouette, while the round accents add concentrated white sparkle beside the gray center. The contrast makes the center color look deeper.
Is this ring solid gold or plated?
Solid. Every ring is made in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or in solid platinum — fine jewelry construction, never hollow and never layered metal.
Which metal should I pick?
10K white gold is the most durable and budget-friendly; 14K is the classic default and our best seller; 18K carries the highest gold content; platinum is naturally white, denser, and hypoallergenic. All four suit daily wear.
Can I get this ring in yellow or rose gold?
Yes. Other gold colors are available on request — contact us and we will arrange your preferred metal.
Is moissanite durable enough for an engagement ring?
Absolutely. At 9–9.25 on the Mohs scale, moissanite is one of the hardest gemstones used in jewelry, exceptionally resistant to scratching and built for everyday wear.
Is this ring ethical?
Yes. The lab-grown moissanite center and accents are conflict-free by nature, with no mining involved in their creation.
Will the gray color clash with my other jewelry?
Quite the opposite — gray is a neutral. It sits comfortably next to white, yellow, or rose metals and alongside colored stones, which makes it one of the easiest center colors to wear daily.
How do I clean it?
Warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush. Rinse, pat dry with a lint-free cloth, and avoid harsh chemicals. Moissanite’s hardness means normal wear will not dull it.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our online ring size guide before ordering. Sizing can vary up to half a size between jewelers’ tools, so measuring at home with our guide is the safest route.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
