A crystal caught in solid gold. This Herkimer diamond wedding band centers a genuine natural Herkimer — a double-terminated quartz crystal with a soft, smoky salt-and-pepper character — bezel-set into a bold 8mm band of solid white gold. Brushed and lightly faceted for a strong, modern surface, it is an heirloom-grade band designed for a lifetime of daily wear, available in your choice of solid 10K, 14K or 18K white gold, or naturally white platinum.
A confident, architectural band
The design is all about presence. A wide 8mm profile gives the ring real weight on the hand, while a brushed, lightly faceted surface catches light in quiet, matte flashes rather than a high mirror shine. The Herkimer sits low in a smooth bezel, so nothing snags and the band feels clean against the skin — a comfort-fit interior rounds the inside edge for easy all-day wear. It is a modern, minimalist statement that reads equally beautiful as a wedding band or a distinctive alternative engagement ring. If you are drawn to that organic, crystal-led aesthetic, you will find kindred pieces throughout our nature-inspired engagement rings and the wider solid gold wedding bands collection.
The natural Herkimer diamond
Despite the name, a Herkimer “diamond” is not a mined diamond at all — it is a genuine natural quartz crystal, famous for forming with two naturally faceted, pointed ends (double termination) and an unusually glassy clarity. Ours carry subtle natural inclusions that give each stone a understated salt-and-pepper personality, so no two bands are ever quite alike. Yours will share the same character as the crystal in our photos, with its own individual pattern — a hallmark of a real, earth-formed gem rather than a flaw. To understand where these crystals come from and why collectors prize them, our complete guide to Herkimer diamonds is a lovely place to begin, and you can explore more of them across our Herkimer diamond jewelry.
Solid white gold or platinum
This is real, solid precious metal — gold all the way through, never plated, filled or bonded over another metal. Choose solid 10K for the most durable and most affordable option, 14K for the classic best-selling balance of strength and purity, or 18K for the highest gold content and a richer, warmer white. Prefer a naturally white, premium metal? Platinum is denser and more substantial in the hand, hypoallergenic, and permanently white. Every version is a lifetime metal that can be resized and repaired for generations. If you are weighing the karats, our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide breaks down the differences in color, hardness and price. Yellow and rose gold are available on request.
What the Herkimer symbolizes
Long treasured as a “stone of attunement,” the Herkimer crystal is associated with clarity, fresh starts and clear-sighted connection — a fitting emblem for two people beginning a life together. Its glassy transparency has made it a quiet favorite among couples who want something meaningful and unconventional. For a closer look at the crystal alongside its moody cousin, see our comparison of the Herkimer diamond versus the salt-and-pepper diamond, and browse companion designs in our Herkimer diamond engagement rings.

Sizing & care
Choose your size at checkout. If you are between sizes or unsure, reach out and we will help you land on the right fit — and if it is not quite right when it arrives, resizing is available and starts from a modest fee. To keep the crystal and the metal looking their best, remove the band before heavy manual work or rough activity, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth, and store it in its velvet box between wears. With gentle care, this is a band made to be worn every single day. If you like to know how a stone holds up first, our note on whether Herkimer diamond rings are durable covers everyday wear in detail.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Herkimer diamond a real diamond?
No — a Herkimer “diamond” is a trade name for a genuine natural quartz crystal, not a mined diamond. It is prized for forming with two naturally pointed ends and a beautifully glassy clarity, and it sits around 7.5 on the Mohs scale.
Is this real solid gold?
Yes. Every band is made from genuine solid gold in your chosen karat — 10K, 14K or 18K — or solid platinum. It is gold all the way through, never plated or filled.
Which metal should I choose?
Choose 10K for the most durable and budget-friendly option, 14K for the classic everyday balance of strength and purity, or 18K for the highest gold content and a richer white. Platinum is the premium pick — naturally white, hypoallergenic and denser in the hand.
Will my crystal look exactly like the photos?
It will share the same clear, softly speckled character, but the exact inclusion pattern is one of a kind. Because each Herkimer forms naturally in the earth, no two are ever identical — yours is genuinely unique.
How wide is the band?
The band is a bold 8mm, giving it a confident, substantial presence on the hand. A comfort-fit interior rounds the inside edge so the wide profile still feels easy to wear all day.
Can it be worn as an engagement ring?
Absolutely. Its clean bezel setting and modern silhouette make it a striking, non-traditional engagement ring as well as a wedding band, and it layers beautifully with other pieces.
Is the setting secure for daily wear?
Yes. The Herkimer is held in a smooth full bezel, which wraps and protects the crystal, keeps a low profile, and resists snagging — one of the most secure settings for everyday wear.
What finish does the band have?
A brushed, lightly faceted surface that reads matte and modern, catching light in soft flashes rather than a high polish. It feels rugged yet refined and hides everyday micro-scratches well.
Can it be engraved?
Yes. You can add a personal engraving of up to 16 characters at checkout — a date, initials or a short message. Engraved pieces are final sale, so please double-check the spelling.
What size should I order?
Select your ring size at checkout. If you are unsure or between sizes, contact us for guidance. Resizing is available on solid gold and platinum and starts from a modest fee.
Are the stones ethically sourced?
Yes. Our Herkimer crystals are ethically sourced and conflict-free, so you can wear your band with complete peace of mind.
How do I care for it?
Remove the band for heavy manual work or rough activity, wipe it with a soft dry cloth, and store it in the velvet box between wears. Solid gold and platinum are lifetime metals that can be resized and repaired for generations.
Does it arrive gift-ready?
Every order ships in a free luxury velvet gift box and is backed by our lifetime warranty — ready for a proposal, a vow renewal or a keepsake gift.
✨ Production time
Every ring on this page is cast, set and finished for your order. Nothing is taken from stock.
- Made-to-order solid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end.

Shipping is added once your ring is finished. These are the options you will see at checkout:
- USPS Ground Advantage — free on every order
- FedEx Home Delivery® — $10
- FedEx 2Day® — $22
- FedEx Overnight — $35
Please note: upgraded shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten the 3–6 week production time. Transit estimates begin the day your ring ships, not the day you order, and can vary with carrier delays. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
🌍 International
We ship worldwide with DHL. Live rates for your address are calculated at checkout — usually DHL Express Worldwide, with DHL eCommerce Parcel Standard also offered to some destinations as a slower, lower-cost option.
For many countries, duties and taxes can be prepaid at checkout for a smoother delivery — if prepaid, no additional fees are due on arrival. Customs fees are set by your country and are non-refundable once the order has shipped.
Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.
AVAILABILITY
Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Limits depend on the width and design of the band. Spaces count toward the total.
• Women’s rings: up to 16 characters
• Men’s rings: up to 25 characters
FONT AND SYMBOLS
Standard engraving is complimentary and set in Arial, chosen because it stays legible at very small sizes. These symbols are included at no extra cost:

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
