A marquise moissanite ring in cool, moonlit silver tones: a GRA-certified marquise moissanite framed by lotus-petal prongs, butterfly silhouettes in the filigree-style openwork gallery, crowned accent points above and below the stone, and a twisted vine shank — all in solid white gold, 10K / 14K / 18K, or platinum.
Moonlight, Filigree, and a Compass of Stones
The marquise sits north-south, and the design extends its lines: a crowned accent point rises above the tip, a mirrored point descends below, and the whole face reads as a single elongated compass star. The openwork gallery has the airy, pierced character of antique filigree — lotus petals cradling the center, butterfly wings unfolding at the shoulders, and a shank that twists like a vine. In white gold the effect is pure moonlight: a unique marquise engagement ring that works equally beautifully as a marquise promise ring.
The Marquise Moissanite: D Color, VVS1, GRA Certified
The center is genuine lab-grown moissanite — a real gemstone with lab-controlled origin, not a simulant. At D color and VVS1 clarity it sits at the top of the grading scale, and every ring ships with its GRA certificate documenting the grading. The round accents are moissanite as well, matching the center's fire throughout the design. If you're weighing your center stone, our guide to how moissanite compares to a lab-grown diamond lays out the differences in plain terms.
Moissanite's refractive index (2.65) exceeds diamond's (2.42), so it throws noticeably more rainbow fire — and against white gold's cool backdrop, that icy-white sparkle is seamless from metal to stone. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale, moissanite is second only to diamond in hardness.
Why the Marquise Cut
The marquise has the largest face-up spread of any cut per carat — its long, pointed silhouette stretches across the finger, making the stone look remarkably generous while elongating the hand. A cut with royal history and a slightly untamed personality, made for a design full of vines and butterflies.
Choose your metal: 10K, 14K, 18K white gold, or platinum
Every ring is made to order in your choice of solid white gold — 10K, 14K, or 18K — or solid platinum, selected from the drop-down. 10K is the most durable and most affordable; 14K is the classic balance of richness and everyday strength, and our default; 18K holds the highest gold content for the deepest warmth beneath its finish. Platinum is the premium choice — naturally white, so it never needs re-plating, denser and more substantial on the hand, and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin. Whichever you pick, the bright rhodium finish gives white gold its mirror-silver, moonlit luster, the color is permanent, and solid gold will never turn your skin green. Read our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide if you're deciding; other colors are available on request. Built for heirloom wear, the piece belongs to our solid gold engagement rings collection and our wider range of marquise moissanite engagement rings, and its moonlit-fairytale character makes it a natural companion to our fairy engagement rings.

Care & Craftsmanship
Each ring is made to order over 2–6 weeks — cast, set, and finished for your order specifically. Moissanite needs no special treatment: warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush restore full brilliance. Store the ring in its velvet box when not worn, and remove it before heavy lifting or abrasive work.
Marquise Moissanite White Gold Ring FAQs
Is the moissanite in this ring real?
Yes — moissanite is a genuine gemstone (silicon carbide) grown in a lab. It is not a diamond simulant like cubic zirconia; it's its own stone with superior optical properties, including more fire than diamond.
What does GRA certified mean?
GRA (Gemological Research Association) certification documents the stone's cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. Your ring ships with its GRA certificate confirming the D color, VVS1 clarity grading.
Are the accent stones moissanite too?
Yes — the crown points and shoulder accents are genuine lab-grown moissanite, matching the center stone's fire throughout the ring.
Which metal should I choose?
All four are solid and built to last. 10K white gold is the most affordable and the hardest-wearing; 14K is our most popular, balancing gold content with everyday strength; 18K carries the highest gold content; and platinum is the premium pick — naturally white, hypoallergenic, denser on the hand, and it never needs re-plating. Every option takes a bright, moonlit-silver finish, and the color is permanent. Other colors are available on request.
What do the butterfly and lotus symbolize?
The butterfly represents transformation and new beginnings; the lotus represents love that blooms through every season. Together with the twisted vine shank, the design tells the story of two lives growing and changing together.
Will moissanite pass a diamond tester?
Standard thermal diamond testers will read moissanite as diamond, because both conduct heat similarly. Only specialized electrical testers distinguish the two.
Does moissanite sparkle more than a diamond?
Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond (2.65 vs 2.42) and more than double the fire dispersion — and the elongated marquise cut shows that rainbow fire dramatically.
Will moissanite cloud, fade, or scratch over time?
No. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale — second only to diamond — and its brilliance is permanent. It will not cloud, yellow, or dull with age.
Is this a fairy or elvish style ring?
Very much so — the vine shank, butterfly gallery, and lotus prongs give it a fairycore, elvish character, and the white gold reads like moonlight. It remains a timeless Art Nouveau-inspired fine-jewelry piece.
Is white gold good for everyday wear?
Yes. Solid white gold is the standard for heirloom jewelry — durable, with a rhodium finish that gives it a bright mirror luster, and it will never turn skin green. Platinum is an equally hard-wearing, naturally white alternative.
Can this be a promise ring instead of an engagement ring?
Absolutely — the design carries no rules. Many partners choose it as a marquise promise ring or a milestone gift; the symbolism of the butterfly and lotus fits any chapter of a love story.
How long does made to order take?
Each ring is cast and set to order over 2–6 weeks. You'll receive tracking as soon as your ring ships.
Is this ring conflict-free?
Yes. The lab-grown moissanite center and accents are inherently conflict-free, and all materials are ethically sourced.
Does it come in other stones or metals?
Yes — the identical design is available with an IGI-certified lab-grown diamond center, and in solid 14K yellow gold with either stone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
