At the heart of this ring sits an 8×6 mm oval mystic topaz of roughly 1.4 carats, alive with flashes of green, blue, violet and gold. Mystic topaz is natural topaz finished with a special micro-thin coating that produces its signature rainbow color play — the topaz itself is a genuine, earth-mined gemstone, and the iridescent finish is what gives it that magical, shifting glow. It rates a hard Mohs 8, though because the color lives in a surface coating it deserves a little extra gentleness in wear and cleaning.
