Green on green, geometry on fire — this emerald cut emerald engagement ring matches the stone to the shape that was named for it. A 1.8-carat lab-grown emerald — a real emerald, grown above ground — sits in solid white gold over a hidden halo of moissanite, its vivid color framed in clean, deliberate lines. May’s birthstone at its most architectural.
The cut that carries the stone’s name
The emerald cut exists because of this gem: centuries of cutters learned that long step facets and cropped corners protect emerald’s crystal while showing off what it does best — pure, saturated color. Instead of scattering light into glitter, the 6 x 8 mm rectangle returns broad, calm flashes of green, an effect jewelers call the hall of mirrors. At approximately 1.8 carats, the stone reads elegant rather than loud, all clean edges and vivid depth. Compare the geometry across our emerald cut engagement rings, or see every green design in the emerald engagement rings collection.
A real emerald, grown above ground
The center stone is a lab-grown emerald — chemically, optically, and physically identical to one pulled from a mine. Same beryl crystal, same chromium-fed green, same fire; the only difference is origin, which is exactly why it can be cleaner, more vivid, and more responsibly sourced than most mined stones at the same price. At 7.5–8 on the Mohs scale, emerald wears beautifully with sensible care. To learn how emerald color and clarity are judged, read our complete emerald buying guide — and if green stones in general call to you, the green engagement rings guide maps the whole family.
The hidden halo: a secret worth tilting for
Face-up, this ring is a pristine solitaire — nothing distracts from the green. Tilt it, and a concealed circle of sparkling moissanite accents appears beneath the emerald’s crown, throwing light up through the profile from an angle only the wearer usually sees. It is quiet luxury in the most literal sense: brilliance placed where discovery, not display, is the point. More designs that keep this secret live in our hidden halo engagement rings collection.
Choose your metal: white gold or platinum
Every option is solid precious metal all the way through, so the white color is permanent:
- 10K white gold — the most durable and most affordable option.
- 14K white gold — the classic balance of durability and gold content, and our default.
- 18K white gold — the highest gold content for the richest feel.
- Platinum — premium, naturally white, noticeably denser, and hypoallergenic.
Weighing the trade-offs? Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K gold karat comparison guide breaks it all down. Yellow or rose gold versions are available on request. As the May birthstone, emerald also makes this ring a meaningful choice for a spring-born partner — the full story is in our May birthstone guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a lab-grown emerald a real emerald?
Yes — a lab-grown emerald is genuine emerald: the same beryl crystal, colored by the same trace elements, with the same hardness and fire as a mined stone. The only difference is that it formed above ground, which typically means better clarity and more responsible sourcing for the price.
What is a hidden halo?
A circle of accent stones — here, brilliant moissanite — set beneath the center stone instead of around it. From above the ring reads as a clean solitaire; from the side, the halo adds a ring of sparkle under the emerald’s crown.
Why pair an emerald with the emerald cut?
The cut was developed for this gem. Its long step facets and trimmed corners protect the stone while displaying deep, even color in broad flashes — the most flattering stage an emerald can stand on.
Is emerald durable enough for daily wear?
Emerald measures 7.5–8 on the Mohs scale — harder than most everyday hazards. Treat it gently: remove the ring for rough work, clean it with mild soap rather than ultrasonic machines, and it will keep its beauty for decades.
Is emerald the May birthstone?
Yes — emerald is the birthstone for May, long associated with renewal, growth, and love reborn each spring. That makes this ring doubly meaningful for a May-born partner.
Which metal should I choose?
10K white gold is the most durable and affordable; 14K is the classic default; 18K carries the highest gold content; platinum is naturally white, denser, and hypoallergenic. Every option is solid precious metal with permanent color.
Is this ring solid gold through and through?
Yes — whichever karat you choose, the ring is solid gold all the way through, or solid platinum. It is solid precious metal from surface to core, so the white color is permanent.
What are the accent stones?
The hidden halo is set with moissanite — a real lab-grown gemstone rated 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with even more fire than diamond, so the sparkle beneath the emerald never dulls.
How wide is the band?
The band averages about 1.7 mm — a slim profile that keeps the emerald and its clean geometry as the focus of the hand.
Can I have the ring engraved?
Yes — complimentary engraving is included, up to 16 characters. A date, initials, or a phrase that belongs to the two of you.
Can I order this in yellow or rose gold?
Yes — yellow and rose gold versions are available on request, and different gemstone options can be quoted for this setting. Contact us before ordering.
How long does production take?
Each ring is made to order by hand; please allow 3–5 weeks. Requested modifications may extend the timeline and adjust pricing.
How should I clean an emerald ring?
Warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush — nothing more aggressive. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steamers, and harsh chemicals, and dry with a lint-free cloth.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our ring size guide at aquamarise.com/pages/find-your-size. Because tools vary between jewelers, your measured size can differ by up to half a size — verify locally if you are unsure. An optional appraisal is also available from the drop-down menu; its cost is non-refundable once performed.
✨ Production time
Every ring on this page is cast, set and finished for your order. Nothing is taken from stock.
- Made-to-order solid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end.

- USPS Ground Advantage — free on every order
- FedEx Home Delivery® — $10
- FedEx 2Day® — $22

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.
AVAILABILITY
Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
