The best detail on this ring is the one nobody sees coming. From above, this elongated cushion moissanite ring is a pure solitaire — a two-carat, GRA certified D color VVS1 cushion held in an open basket on a slim yellow gold band. Tilt it, and a hidden halo of accent stones ignites beneath the center: a private ring of light, reserved for the moments someone leans in close.
Why the Elongated Cushion Flatters
Take the softness of a cushion cut — pillowed corners, broad brilliant facets — and stretch it, and you get a shape that does two jobs at once: it keeps the romantic glow of a classic cushion while drawing a lengthening line down the finger the way ovals and emerald cuts do. At 6.5 x 9.0 mm and roughly 2 carats, this center makes the case convincingly. It is a signature silhouette in our cushion cut moissanite engagement rings collection, and among the most requested.
The Hidden Halo, Explained
A traditional halo circles the stone on top, announcing itself first. A hidden halo sits below the girdle, wrapped around the basket where only side angles reveal it — sparkle as a secret rather than a headline. It adds light to the ring’s profile, makes the center appear lifted and luminous, and keeps the top-down view perfectly minimalist. If that under-the-surface elegance appeals to you, our hidden halo engagement rings collection gathers every design that shares it.
A Solitaire With a Certified Heart
The open basket and claw prongs hold the stone high with minimal metal, letting light enter from every direction — and the stone repays it. Moissanite is a genuine lab-grown gemstone, silicon carbide at 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with more fire than diamond; this one is graded D color and VVS1 clarity and includes its GRA certificate. Read is moissanite a lab-grown diamond? for the honest comparison, or explore the stone’s story in our guide to moissanite meaning and symbolism — a gem first found in a meteor crater is a fitting way to promise someone the sky.
Warm Gold, Three Ways
The petite 1.7 mm band comes in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K yellow gold — 10K the most durable and affordable, 14K the classic balance, 18K the richest color — each solid gold all the way through, with a high polish finish. Our karat comparison guide helps you choose, and solid white or rose gold is available on request. Please note the matching wedding band is sold separately. Conflict-free, free USA shipping, free luxury ring box.

Sizing & Care
This ring runs true to size, but measured sizes can still differ by up to half a size between jewelers’ tools — confirm yours with our ring size guide before ordering. Care is simple: moissanite’s 9.25 Mohs hardness laughs off daily wear, so an occasional wash in warm water with mild soap and a soft brush — with extra attention to the hidden halo, where lotion likes to settle — keeps the fire at full brightness. Remove it for abrasive work and store it in the included luxury box.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hidden halo?
A circle of accent stones set beneath the center stone, around the basket, instead of on top. From above the ring reads as a clean solitaire; from the side, the halo lights up the profile. It is sparkle designed as a secret.
What makes an elongated cushion different from a regular cushion?
Both share pillowed corners and brilliant faceting, but the elongated version is stretched lengthwise - here 6.5 x 9.0 mm - so it visually lengthens the finger the way an oval does while keeping the cushion's soft romance.
Is moissanite a real gemstone?
Yes. Moissanite is silicon carbide, a genuine lab-grown gemstone first identified in a meteor crater - not an imitation diamond. It has more fire than diamond and rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale.
How big is the center stone?
Approximately 6.5 x 9.0 mm, or about 2 carats. The elongated proportions spread that weight across a long face-up area, so the ring reads generously sized on the hand.
Is the stone certified?
Yes. Each ring includes a GRA certificate for the moissanite center, documenting its D color and VVS1 clarity. Additional certification options are available at extra cost.
Why an open basket setting?
The open basket holds the stone with claw prongs and minimal metal, letting light enter from below and from the sides. More light in means more fire out - and it is also what makes room for the hidden halo.
Does the hidden halo show from the top?
Barely - and that is the point. Face-up, the ring is a minimalist solitaire. The halo reveals itself in profile and at an angle, adding glow beneath the center without changing the clean silhouette.
Which karat of yellow gold should I choose?
10K is the most durable and affordable, 14K is the most popular balance of durability and purity, and 18K offers the richest, deepest gold color. All three are solid yellow gold throughout.
Is this real solid gold?
Yes. Every karat option is solid gold all the way through - no layers, no coatings - which is why the ring can be polished and handed down.
Can I get this ring in white or rose gold?
Yes. Solid white gold or solid rose gold, each in 10K, 14K, or 18K, is available on request - contact us before ordering and we will arrange it.
Is a matching wedding band included?
No - the matching wedding band is sold separately. The solitaire's slim, straight band pairs easily with most stacking styles, so you can choose the band that suits you.
Is moissanite durable enough to wear every day?
Yes. At 9-9.25 Mohs, moissanite is second in hardness only to diamond among popular center stones. It resists scratching and keeps its brilliance through decades of daily wear.
How long does production take?
The ring is made to order; please allow 3-5 weeks for handcrafted production. Requested modifications may affect production time and pricing.
Is engraving or an appraisal available?
Both. Complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included - leave your request at checkout - and an optional professional appraisal can be added via the drop-down (non-refundable once completed).
✨ Production time

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.
AVAILABILITY
Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
