The Bella is an oval alexandrite engagement ring and matching band built around a two-carat secret: a lab-grown alexandrite that lives as bluish green in the daylight hours and turns purplish red when the candles come out. Set in blushing solid rose gold with your choice of moissanite or natural diamond accents, this alexandrite ring rose gold pairing belongs to our most romantic alexandrite engagement rings, made for a love that shows new colors the longer you look.
The Engagement Ring
A 7 x 9 mm oval lab-grown alexandrite, approximately 2.0 carats, accented with your choice of D-color VVS1 moissanite or conflict-free natural diamonds.
The Wedding Band
A perfectly matched rose gold band completes the set, designed to sit in harmony beside the engagement ring for a seamless bridal stack.
Why the oval earns its reputation
An oval does two generous things at once: its elongated outline makes the finger look longer and leaner, and its spread carries more visible face-up size than a round stone of the same weight. At 7 x 9 mm and roughly two carats, the Bella’s center stone has real presence without ever feeling heavy on the hand — the reason ovals anchor so many of our oval engagement rings. The soft curve of the shape also echoes the rounded warmth of rose gold, so nothing about the design sits at hard angles.
A stone that keeps a second color
Alexandrite is one of the very few gemstones with a true color change. In daylight or office light the oval reads bluish green; under incandescent bulbs or candlelight it crosses into purplish red. Because rose gold leans warm, the evening shift feels especially at home here — stone and metal glowing in the same direction. Alexandrite is also the modern June birthstone, which our June birthstone guide explores in full, making the Bella doubly meaningful for a June birthday or anniversary.
Lab-grown alexandrite, the honest way to own one
Natural alexandrite is among the rarest gemstones on earth, which is why fine mined examples cost more than diamonds. The Bella’s center stone is lab-grown alexandrite — genuinely alexandrite, with the identical chemistry, the identical color change, and the same durable 8.5 Mohs hardness, grown above ground instead of mined. Our guide to lab-grown vs natural alexandrite lays out exactly what changes and what does not.
Your sparkle, your choice
The accent stones come in two options, selected from the drop-down menu. Moissanite accents are D color and VVS1 clarity with fiery, rainbow-leaning brilliance at 9 on the Mohs scale. Natural diamond accents are G/H color, I1 eye-clean clarity, conflict-free, and the hardest gemstone there is at Mohs 10. Both read as crisp white light against the color-shifting center — the choice is simply fire versus tradition.
Solid rose gold, in three karats
Every ring in this set is solid rose gold through and through — no plating, no base metal. Choose 10K for the hardest and most affordable option, 14K for our most popular balance of warm color and everyday durability, or 18K for the richest, deepest blush. The 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide compares them side by side, and you can see how the finished set fits among our wedding ring sets for women and other rose gold rings.

Sizing & care
Select your size from the drop-down — half and quarter sizes are offered — and check our ring sizing guide first, because measurements can differ by up to half a size between jewelers’ tools. Alexandrite’s 8.5 hardness makes daily wear easy: wash the set occasionally in warm water with mild soap, dry with a soft cloth, and take the rings off for gym sessions, gardening, and harsh cleaning chemicals. The rose gold needs nothing more than the same gentle habit.
Frequently Asked Questions
What colors does the Bella's alexandrite show?
Bluish green under daylight and cool lighting, shifting to purplish red under incandescent or candle light. The change involves the entire stone, not just a flash of color, and you can watch it happen as the lighting around you changes.
Is the alexandrite real if it is lab-grown?
Yes. Lab-grown alexandrite is true alexandrite: the same chemical makeup, the same color-changing optics, and the same 8.5 Mohs hardness as mined material. Growing it in a lab is what makes a two-carat stone attainable, since fine natural alexandrite is rarer than diamond.
How large is the center stone?
The oval measures approximately 7.0 x 9.0 mm and weighs about 2.0 carats, a size with substantial face-up presence on the hand.
Why choose an oval cut?
Ovals elongate the finger, carry more visible spread per carat than rounds, and have no sharp corners to catch or chip. The shape also complements alexandrite's color change by giving the stone a broad face to display both hues.
Should I pick moissanite or natural diamond accents?
Moissanite accents are D color and VVS1 clarity with more fire and rainbow sparkle at a friendlier price. Natural diamond accents are G/H color, I1 eye-clean, and conflict-free, with the classic white brilliance and top hardness. Both are beautiful; it comes down to sparkle style and budget.
What is included in this set?
Two rings: the Bella oval alexandrite engagement ring and its perfectly matched rose gold wedding band. The pair arrives together in a luxury ring box with free U.S. shipping.
Is rose gold a good match for alexandrite?
Beautifully so. Rose gold's warm blush flatters the stone's purplish-red evening color, while the daylight green reads as a striking contrast against the pink metal, so the ring looks intentional in both of the stone's moods.
Which karat of rose gold should I choose?
10K is the hardest and most budget-friendly, 14K is our most popular balance of color, durability, and value, and 18K carries the highest gold content with the richest tone. All three are solid rose gold, never plated.
Will the rose gold color wear off?
No. These rings are solid gold through their entire thickness, so the rose color is permanent. There is no coating to wear through and the metal will not turn your skin green.
Is this ring set durable enough for daily wear?
Yes. Alexandrite's 8.5 Mohs hardness is second only to sapphire and diamond among popular center stones, and both accent options are harder still. Simple care - mild soap, warm water, removing the rings for rough work - keeps the set looking new.
Is alexandrite a birthstone?
Yes, alexandrite is a modern June birthstone, which makes the Bella an especially meaningful choice for June birthdays, June weddings, and anniversaries.
How long until my set ships?
Each set is made to order; please allow 3-5 weeks for your rings to be handmade. Requested modifications may extend the timeline and adjust the price.
Can I add engraving or an appraisal?
Complimentary engraving up to 16 characters is included. An optional appraisal can be added from the drop-down menu; the appraisal fee is non-refundable once performed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
