Our stones
What each stone is, said plainly
Every product page names its stone and tells you which of two things it is.
- Natural. Mined and cut. Any treatment the stone has had, such as heat, dye or stabilization, is written on the listing next to the stone name.
- Lab-grown. The same crystal, made in a lab instead of the ground. Our moissanite and lab-grown diamonds are here. Lab diamonds ship with an IGI or GIA report you can check online.
If we cannot say where a stone was mined, we say that instead of guessing. And if a stone carries a brand name, the mineral name is on the listing too.
The stones we use most
Moissanite is lab-grown silicon carbide, not a diamond, with more fire than one. Lab-grown diamonds are diamond, grown by HPHT or CVD, chemically identical to mined. Moss agate is natural chalcedony with green mineral inclusions, so no two stones match. Sapphire is natural corundum, and heat treatment, where a stone has had it, is stated on the ring. Alexandrite is color-changing chrysoberyl, and each listing says whether that stone is natural or lab-created; the alexandrite guide explains the difference.

Our metals
Sterling, solid gold, platinum. Nothing plated and called gold
Ready-to-ship designs are rhodium-finished sterling silver or gold vermeil, which is a thick layer of gold over sterling, and they are labeled as one or the other. Solid 14K and 18K gold and platinum pieces are cast after you order and priced by their weight.
We ask our refiners for recycled precious metal first. Recycled gold is chemically identical to newly mined gold and carries the same hallmark. Where we cannot get it, we say so on the Sustainability page instead of rounding up.
Pricing
How a price is built
The same ring in sterling silver, solid gold and platinum is priced by what it is made of, not by which metal is fashionable this year.
- Materials. Metal by weight at the market rate, plus the stone. This is the part that moves when gold moves.
- Making. Casting, setting, finishing, and the inspection against the original design before it is boxed.
- The studio. Design, photography, packaging, and the person who answers your email. A small share, because we are small.
- Nothing else. No showroom, no wholesale markup, no add-ons at checkout beyond the shipping option you choose.

Policies, written down in plain English
Returns
14 days from delivery on ready-to-ship pieces, unworn and in original condition. Made-to-order and custom pieces are final sale, and we say so before you pay.
Sizing
One free size exchange on your first order, because fingers change and printed charts lie. After that, resizing at a stated price.
Warranty
Limited lifetime warranty on solid gold and platinum in the U.S., and defined coverage periods on every other metal, listed by metal.
Shipping and timing
Free U.S. shipping by USPS Ground, DHL internationally, tracked. Made to order takes 3 to 6 weeks, and the listing says which applies before you buy.
Custom orders
A consultation, a 3D render you approve, then casting. Custom pieces are final sale, which is why nothing is cast until you have signed off.
