Is black ruthenium jewelry safe to wear every day?
Yes. Ruthenium is a platinum-group metal plated over 925 sterling silver. It is nickel-free and harder than the silver beneath it, so it suits daily wear. Take it off for pools, hot tubs and household chemicals, as you would any fine jewelry.
What makes a ring “gothic”?
Dark metal, deliberate stones and architectural shapes: black ruthenium instead of bright silver, garnet, onyx and black fire opal instead of white stones, and silhouettes such as coffin cuts, bat wings, kites and vines. The construction is the same as the rest of our jewelry.
