Scale. Classic pavé uses stones of roughly a millimeter and up, individually visible; micro-pavé drops below that, set under magnification so the beads nearly vanish and the lane reads as unbroken glitter. French pavé adds V-cut channels beneath each stone for extra side light. Micro work costs more labor per millimeter and looks finer up close — each listing here names which style its band carries.

Not from a well-made band. Each stone is seated in its own drilled bed and locked by metal beads — secure through years of normal wear. The honest risks are grit and impact: sand or gym-bar knurling ground across the lane can loosen a bead over time, so take the ring off for heavy grip work and have the lane checked yearly. Yes — the pairing is sturdier than it looks. Aquamarine runs 7.5–8 on the Mohs scale, hard enough for daily wear with sensible care, and the paved lane’s stones are protected by their beads and their tiny individual size. Keep it away from ground-in grit, brush it monthly, and the ring stays bright; the icy-blue-over-white-lane look is this collection’s signature for a reason.

High-fire centers double down on the glitter: moissanite — refractive index above diamond’s — makes the whole ring flash as one, and IGI-certified lab-grown diamond gives the classic all-white read. Colored centers use the lane as contrast: icy aquamarine, blush morganite, alexandrite. A properly finished lane is smooth to the touch — the stones and beads face outward, and the band’s inner surface stays polished metal. Ours are finished so the paved edge never rubs the neighboring finger. The feel underhand is faintly textured rather than sharp; most wearers stop noticing within a day. If you prefer zero texture at the palm side, choose a design whose paving stops at the band’s shoulders — most of ours do.

Lukewarm water, a drop of mild dish soap, ten minutes of soaking, then a soft brush along the lane — the bead-work collects lotion and skin oils faster than plain metal, and a filmed lane is the usual reason paving dims. This is paving’s honest limitation: stones set around the full circumference leave a jeweler nowhere to work, which is why full-eternity paving is a commitment. Most designs here pave only the upper band and leave the underside plain metal — deliberately, so a jeweler retains working room and the ring stays comfortable.
