There is one place on Earth where tanzanite comes out of the ground, and this is what it looks like when it arrives in rose gold. The Victoria is a tanzanite engagement ring built around a natural 7 × 5 mm oval with the stone’s signature velvety blue-violet depth, framed by a halo and fan-style cluster of D-color VVS1 moissanite in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K rose gold.
A Gem From a Single Corner of the World
Tanzanite was only discovered in 1967, and commercial deposits have been found in just one small area of northern Tanzania, in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. That single-source scarcity is why gem dealers speak about tanzanite the way they once spoke about Kashmir sapphire: a stone whose supply is finite in a way most gems’ simply is not. Our journal digs into the story and symbolism in tanzanite meaning, and you can see every cut and setting we offer in our tanzanite engagement rings collection.
Velvet Depth, Shifting Color
Fine tanzanite is prized for a color quality jewelers call velvety — a saturated blue-violet that seems lit from within rather than reflected. The stone is also strongly pleochroic: tilt it and the balance shifts between blue and violet, so the ring reads slightly differently in daylight, candlelight, and office light. Where a sapphire states one blue, tanzanite holds a conversation between two. It is a natural centerpiece among blue gemstones, and one of the most distinctive stones in our tanzanite jewelry range.
A Halo and Fan of Colorless Fire
Around the oval center, moissanite accents graded D color and VVS1 clarity form an elegant halo that resolves into a fan-like cluster. The colorless brilliance sharpens the tanzanite’s violet by contrast, and at Mohs 9 the moissanite frame places the hardest-wearing stones along the ring’s outer edge. The result is a balanced, luminous silhouette with sparkle from every angle.
Solid Rose Gold, Your Karat
Each Victoria is made to order in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K rose gold, chosen from the drop-down. 10K is the most durable and budget-friendly; 14K is our best-selling balance of warmth and strength; 18K holds the highest gold content and the deepest rose hue. The color comes from the gold itself, so it is permanent. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide lays out the differences, other gold colors are available on request, and the full tier lives in our solid gold rings collection.

Sizing & Care
Order your exact size — our find-your-size guide makes it easy to measure at home. Tanzanite is softer than sapphire or diamond, so give it collector’s care: remove the ring before the gym, gardening, and heavy housework, keep it clear of harsh chemicals and sudden temperature changes, and skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners in favor of warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Natural tanzanite can also show gentle color zoning — part of each stone’s individual character. The Victoria arrives in a free luxury ring box with free USA shipping; for everyday habits, see how to care for your engagement ring.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the tanzanite natural?
Yes. The center stone is a natural oval-cut tanzanite, and like all natural tanzanite it may show subtle color zoning and variation — the fingerprint of a genuinely mined stone.
What color is tanzanite?
A rich blue-violet. Tanzanite is strongly pleochroic, meaning the stone shifts between blue and violet depending on the angle and the light, so the ring changes character through the day.
Why is tanzanite considered rare?
Commercial tanzanite deposits exist in only one small region of northern Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro, and the gem was only discovered in 1967. One source, finite supply - that is the whole rarity story, and it is true.
Is tanzanite a December birthstone?
Yes — tanzanite is one of December’s official birthstones, making this ring an especially meaningful choice for December birthdays and winter proposals.
Can I wear a tanzanite ring every day?
Yes, with mindful habits. Tanzanite is softer than sapphire or diamond, so remove the ring for impact-heavy tasks and chemical exposure. Treated that way, it will stay beautiful for decades.
Are the accent stones diamonds?
They are moissanite, graded D color and VVS1 clarity — a genuine lab-grown gemstone with more fire than diamond and a Mohs hardness of 9, arranged in the halo and fan cluster around the tanzanite.
Which karat of rose gold should I choose?
10K is the most durable and most affordable, 14K is our best-selling balance of strength and gold content, and 18K carries the highest gold content with the deepest rose color. All three are solid rose gold.
Is this real solid gold?
Yes — solid rose gold in your chosen karat, all the way through. The color is part of the metal, so it is permanent, and the ring carries genuine precious-metal value.
Can I order it in white or yellow gold?
Yes. The Victoria is shown in rose gold, but other gold colors are available on request — contact us before placing your order and we will set it up.
How big does a 7 x 5 mm oval look?
Elegant and clearly present without being heavy — and the moissanite halo extends the outline further, so the ring wears larger than the center stone measurement alone suggests.
How should I clean this ring?
Warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners and sudden temperature swings — gentle hand-washing is all a tanzanite ever needs.
How do I find my ring size?
Use the find-your-size guide linked in the sizing section — it walks you through measuring a finger or an existing ring at home. If you are between sizes, most people size up.
What is included with my order?
A free luxury ring box and free USA shipping. Every Victoria is made to order in your chosen karat and size, finished and ready for the question.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
