Architecture and gemstone in one gesture: this tanzanite engagement ring set frames a kite-cut natural tanzanite — a full 6×10 mm and approximately 1.4 carats — inside a sleek, protective bezel of solid white gold or platinum. A matched chevron wedding band echoes the stone’s angles, and both rings carry your choice of moissanite or natural diamond accents.
The Engagement Ring
A kite-cut natural tanzanite wrapped in a smooth bezel — the metal traces every edge of the stone, protecting its points while sharpening its geometry.
The Wedding Band
A chevron band whose V-shape mirrors the kite’s lower point, nesting flush beneath the engagement ring with matching accent stones along the shoulders.
The geometry of a kite cut
The kite cut is a modern shape with an old confidence: four sides, two long and two short, meeting at a proud vertical point. On this tanzanite it stretches the stone to 10 mm of finger coverage while keeping the silhouette crisp and directional — more compass needle than teardrop. It flatters the hand the way elongated cuts do, but with an angular character that reads unmistakably contemporary. If sharp lines are your language, our kite cut engagement rings and geometric engagement rings collections speak it fluently.
Why a bezel is the smartest home for tanzanite
A bezel setting runs a continuous rim of solid metal around the stone’s entire outline. On a kite cut it does double duty: it shields the pointed corners — the most vulnerable part of any angular stone — and it draws a clean metallic frame that makes the blue-violet center look inked in place. There are no prongs to snag on knitwear, no exposed edges to worry about, which makes this the most wearable way to carry a softer gemstone through daily life. Compare setting styles in our guide to engagement ring styles and setting types, or browse the whole family of bezel-set engagement rings.
A gemstone from a single hillside
Natural tanzanite comes from one deposit in northern Tanzania and nowhere else — a geographic accident that makes every stone a small rarity. Its signature color sits between blue and violet and shifts with the light around it: cooler by day, warmer by candlelight. As the December birthstone, it carries special weight for winter engagements. Our tanzanite meaning guide tells the stone’s story in full, and you can see its range across our tanzanite engagement rings.
Solid white gold or platinum
Every option is crafted in solid, hallmark-quality precious metal — never plated. Select from the drop-down menu:
- 10K white gold — the hardest and most affordable of the white golds, with the greatest everyday scratch resistance.
- 14K white gold — our most popular all-rounder, balancing durability, gold content, and value.
- 18K white gold — the richest gold content for a luxuriously substantial feel.
- Platinum — naturally white, the densest choice, and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin.
Yellow gold and rose gold are also available on request. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide breaks down the differences so you can choose with confidence.
Choose your accent stones
- Moissanite — color D, clarity VVS1, hardness 9 on the Mohs scale, with fire that outplays its size.
- Natural diamond — conflict-free, color G/H, clarity I1 (eye clean), hardness 10 on the Mohs scale.

Sizing & care
Tanzanite measures 6.0–7.0 on the Mohs hardness scale, and the bezel setting is already doing much of the protective work — but treat the stone kindly all the same. Take the set off for workouts, gardening, and contact with household chemicals, and clean it with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush rather than ultrasonic or steam cleaners.
Sizing can vary up to half a size between jewelers’ sizers and mandrels, so please check our ring sizing guide before ordering. Each set is made to order and takes 3–5 weeks to be handmade for you; requested modifications may adjust production timelines and pricing. Complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters, a free luxury ring box, and free USA shipping are included, and an optional appraisal can be added from the drop-down menu (non-refundable once performed).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a natural tanzanite?
Yes. The center stone is a natural tanzanite, kite cut to 6×10 mm at approximately 1.4 carats, with the violet-blue color unique to the stone.
What is a kite cut?
A kite cut is a four-sided elongated shape that comes to a point, like its namesake. It covers more of the finger than a round stone of the same weight and gives the ring a crisp, modern geometry.
What are the advantages of a bezel setting?
The bezel wraps a continuous rim of solid metal around the stone, protecting its corners and edges. Nothing snags, nothing catches, and the metal frame visually sharpens the stone’s outline — ideal for an angular cut like this one.
What does the set include?
Two rings sold together: the bezel-set kite tanzanite engagement ring and a matching chevron wedding band that nests beneath it. Both carry your chosen accent stones.
Which metals are available?
Solid 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or platinum, selectable from the drop-down menu. Yellow gold and rose gold are available on request.
How do the karats differ?
10K is the hardest and most affordable, 14K balances durability and gold content and is our most popular choice, and 18K has the richest gold content. Every karat is solid gold all the way through.
Is platinum worth the upgrade?
If you have sensitive skin or want the densest, most substantial feel, yes. Platinum is naturally white and hypoallergenic, and its color never depends on any coating.
Which accent stones can I choose?
Moissanite in color D, clarity VVS1 (Mohs 9), or conflict-free natural diamonds in color G/H, clarity I1 and eye clean (Mohs 10).
Can tanzanite handle everyday wear?
With a bezel setting guarding it, this tanzanite is well protected, but the stone itself measures 6.0–7.0 on the Mohs scale. Remove the ring for rough work and chemicals and it will reward you for decades.
How should I clean this set?
Warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners — they are not recommended for tanzanite.
Is tanzanite a December birthstone?
Yes. Tanzanite is a modern December birthstone, which makes this set a natural fit for December birthdays and winter proposals.
Can the rings be engraved?
Yes — complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included with the set.
How long until my set ships?
Each set is made to order and takes 3–5 weeks to be handmade. Requested modifications may adjust the timeline and pricing.
How do I find my ring size?
Sizing can vary up to half a size between jewelers’ tools, so please consult our ring sizing guide before ordering — and reach out if you would like help deciding between two sizes.
✨ Production time

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.

Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
