Some rings announce themselves; the Everly simply glows. A 2.0-carat oval lab-grown ruby — genuine corundum with a deep crimson heart — rises from a whisper-thin band of solid white gold, a single accent stone on each shoulder catching the light like punctuation. For anyone searching for a ruby engagement ring in white gold that feels timeless rather than trend-driven, this is the quiet classic.
Why the oval cut flatters a ruby
An oval does two things a round brilliant cannot. Its elongated outline stretches visually along the finger, so the generous 7.0 x 9.0 mm stone reads even larger than its 2.0 carats. And its softly rounded ends keep the silhouette romantic rather than severe — a shape that has crowned oval engagement rings for generations of brides who wanted presence without sharp edges. In a saturated red stone, the oval’s broad table becomes a window into the color itself.
A minimal setting with two points of light
The Everly’s band averages a slender 1.7 mm, deliberately understated so the ruby carries the composition. One accent stone sits on each shoulder — your choice of D-color VVS1 moissanite or natural conflict-free diamonds (G/H color, eye-clean I1 clarity). Both options are near-colorless and brilliantly white, framing the crimson center like stage lights. If you love pared-back design, you’ll find kindred spirits across our women’s engagement rings.
Solid white gold or platinum, all the way through
Every Everly is cast in solid precious metal — 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or naturally white, hypoallergenic platinum. 10K is the hardest and most budget-friendly, 14K is the classic all-rounder most couples choose, and 18K carries the richest gold content. Platinum is the densest and most durable of the four. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide walks through how each purity wears over a lifetime, and the wider world of solid gold rings shows the same no-shortcuts philosophy across our catalog.
A genuine ruby, grown above ground
The center stone is a lab-grown ruby — chemically, optically, and physically identical to a mined ruby, because it is ruby: genuine corundum, colored by the same chromium that makes the finest natural reds. At Mohs 9 hardness, only diamond and moissanite outrank it, which makes it one of the most confident choices for a ring worn every single day. Growing the crystal above ground simply means richer color, cleaner clarity, and a kinder footprint at a fraction of the mined price.
The stone of love and vitality
Rubies have symbolized passion, courage, and protection since antiquity — medieval Europeans believed a ruby guaranteed health, wisdom, and success in love. Our journal explores ruby meaning and symbolism in depth, along with the stone’s role as the July birthstone — a lovely bonus if your love story has a summer anniversary. When it’s time to complete the pairing, our ruby wedding bands continue the crimson thread.

Sizing & care
Every Everly is made to order in your exact size, including half and quarter sizes — select yours from the drop-down, and use our ring size guide if you’re unsure, since sizing can vary up to half a size between jewelers’ tools. Care is refreshingly simple: at Mohs 9, ruby shrugs off daily wear. Wash occasionally with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, then pat dry. Remove the ring for heavy lifting or abrasive work, and store it separately from diamond jewelry to keep settings from rubbing. Your ring arrives in a free luxury ring box with free USA shipping.
Frequently asked questions
Is the ruby in this ring a real ruby?
Yes. The center stone is a lab-grown ruby — genuine corundum with the same chemical composition, hardness, and fire as a mined ruby. It is a real ruby in every measurable way; the only difference is that it was grown above ground rather than excavated.
How big is the center stone?
The oval ruby measures 7.0 x 9.0 mm and weighs approximately 2.0 carats — a genuinely substantial center stone with strong finger coverage, especially in the elongated oval cut.
Is this a single ring or a bridal set?
The Everly is sold as a single engagement ring. If you’d like to build a matching pair later, our ruby wedding bands collection offers coordinating designs in the same solid metals.
Which metals can I choose?
Four options: 10K, 14K, or 18K solid white gold, or platinum. Each is solid precious metal throughout — nothing layered, nothing hollow.
What is the difference between 10K, 14K, and 18K white gold?
The karat number reflects gold content. 10K is the hardest and most affordable, 14K balances durability with a rich white sheen and is our most popular choice, and 18K carries the highest gold content for the most luxurious feel. Our karat comparison guide in the journal covers the details.
Why choose platinum?
Platinum is naturally white, so its color is permanent to the core. It is also the densest and most durable of the four metal options and hypoallergenic — ideal for sensitive skin.
Should I pick moissanite or natural diamond accents?
Both look brilliant and near-colorless at accent sizes. Moissanite (D color, VVS1) offers exceptional fire at a friendlier price; the natural diamonds (G/H, I1 eye-clean) are conflict-free and appeal to buyers who want mined diamonds specifically. Visually, most people cannot tell them apart on shoulders this size.
Is a lab-grown ruby durable enough for everyday wear?
Absolutely. Ruby scores 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — equal to sapphire and surpassed only by moissanite and diamond. It resists scratching through decades of daily wear.
How long will my ring take to arrive?
Each ring is handmade to order; please allow 3-5 weeks for production. Requested modifications may extend the timeline and adjust pricing. Shipping within the USA is free.
Can I have the ring engraved?
Yes — complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included. Add your date, initials, or a private phrase during checkout.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our online ring size guide before ordering. Because sizing tools vary slightly between jewelers, your measured size can differ by up to half a size, so we recommend confirming with our chart. Half and quarter sizes are available in the drop-down.
Can I request a different center gemstone?
Yes. Alternative gemstone options are available on request — contact us for a custom quote and we’ll price your preferred stone in this setting.
Is an appraisal available?
An optional appraisal can be selected from the drop-down menu. Please note the appraisal fee is non-refundable once the work has been performed.
✨ Production time

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.

Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
