A single drop of the sea, caught mid-fall. This pear aquamarine engagement ring centers a natural 7.0 x 9.0 mm teardrop-cut stone of approximately 1.6 carats — tranquil, glassy blue tapering to a fine point — framed by sparkling accents and set in solid white gold. The elongated pear silhouette lengthens the finger the way few other cuts can, and the vintage-inspired detailing gives it the soul of an heirloom.
Why the Pear Cut Flatters
The pear — jewelers’ formal name for the teardrop — combines the brilliance of a round with the elongating sweep of a marquise. Worn point-out, it visually lengthens the finger; the rounded shoulders keep the look soft rather than severe. It is also one of the most distinctive shapes you can choose without leaving classic territory, which is why pear-shaped engagement rings keep winning over people who find round solitaires a little too expected. For a deeper look at proportions, orientation, and settings, read our pear-shaped engagement rings guide.
The Stone: Natural Aquamarine
The Eva’s center is a natural aquamarine, prized for its serene sea-blue hue and luminous clarity. At 7.5–8 on the Mohs hardness scale it wears confidently day to day, and its pale, watery blue reads lighter and airier than sapphire’s saturated depths — our aquamarine vs sapphire comparison breaks down how the two blues differ in color, durability, and price. You can see the stone across other silhouettes in our full range of aquamarine rings.
Accent Stones: Two Ways to Sparkle
- Moissanite — D color, VVS1 clarity, 9 on the Mohs scale. Maximum fire for the price.
- Natural diamond — G/H color, I1 eye-clean clarity, conflict-free, 10 on the Mohs scale. Provenance for an heirloom.
Either choice frames the cool center stone in bright white light; the romantic, intricately detailed gallery does the rest, in the spirit of our vintage aquamarine jewelry.
Choose Your Metal
Every option is a solid precious metal — pick the one that suits your lifestyle:
- 10K white gold — the hardest and most durable of the golds, and the most affordable, ideal for everyday wear.
- 14K white gold — the most popular all-rounder, balancing durability with a rich precious-metal feel.
- 18K white gold — the richest gold content for a luxurious, substantial finish.
- Platinum — naturally white, the densest of the metals, and hypoallergenic.
Compare the karats in our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide, or weigh gold against platinum in our platinum vs gold guide. This ring can also be custom made in yellow or rose gold.

To care for the ring, wash it in warm water with mild soap and a soft brush, then pat dry. Take it off for gym sessions, gardening, and heavy chores, and rest it in its free luxury ring box overnight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a pear cut or a teardrop cut?
They are the same shape: teardrop is the everyday name, pear is the jeweler's term. The Eva's center stone is a pear-cut natural aquamarine measuring 7.0 x 9.0 mm.
Is the aquamarine natural?
Yes. The center stone is a natural aquamarine of approximately 1.6 carats, with the tranquil sea-blue color and clarity the gem is loved for.
Which way should the point face?
Tradition points the tip toward the fingertip, which maximizes the finger-lengthening effect, but plenty of wearers flip it. There is no wrong answer; wear it the way it pleases you.
Does a pear-cut stone look bigger than a round?
Carat for carat, yes. The elongated outline spreads more visual area across the finger than a round of the same weight, so the Eva's 1.6 ct pear wears generously.
How does aquamarine compare to sapphire?
Aquamarine is a lighter, airier blue and more affordable; sapphire is deeper in color and harder. At 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale, aquamarine is still well suited to daily wear with sensible care.
Is aquamarine the March birthstone?
Yes, aquamarine is the traditional birthstone for March, making this teardrop design a meaningful choice for a spring birthday or anniversary. See more March birthstone rings on our journal.
Should I choose moissanite or natural diamond accents?
Moissanite (D color, VVS1) delivers exceptional brilliance at a friendlier price; natural diamonds (G/H, I1 eye-clean, conflict-free) add heirloom provenance. Visually, both read bright white.
Is every metal option solid?
Yes. All four options - 10K, 14K, and 18K white gold, and platinum - are solid precious metal throughout.
Can this ring be made in yellow or rose gold?
Yes, the Eva can be custom made in yellow or rose gold. Contact us to arrange it.
How long will my ring take to arrive?
Each ring is made to order; please allow 3-5 weeks for it to be handmade for you. Requested modifications can extend the timeline.
Can I add an engraving?
Yes, complimentary engraving is included, up to 16 characters.
How do I find my ring size?
Measured sizes can vary by up to half a size between jewelers' tools, so use our sizing guide before ordering. Half and quarter sizes are available.
Is an appraisal available?
Yes, an optional appraisal can be selected from the drop-down menu. The appraisal cost is non-refundable once the work has been performed.
What is included with my order?
A free luxury ring box and free shipping across the USA are included with every ring.
✨ Production time

- Made-to-order solid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end.

- USPS Ground Advantage — free on every order
- FedEx Home Delivery® — $10
- FedEx 2Day® — $22

We ship worldwide with DHL. Live rates for your address are calculated at checkout — usually DHL Express Worldwide, with DHL eCommerce Parcel Standard also offered to some destinations as a slower, lower-cost option.
For many countries, duties and taxes can be prepaid at checkout for a smoother delivery — if prepaid, no additional fees are due on arrival. Customs fees are set by your country and are non-refundable once the order has shipped.
Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.

Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
