A lotus opens twice a day — and so does the Eva. Petals of moissanite or natural diamond unfold around an oval lab-grown alexandrite that blooms bluish green in daylight and closes the evening in purplish red. This alexandrite ring in solid rose gold turns a rare color-change gem into a flower that is always in season.
A lotus rendered in rose gold
The Eva’s setting is drawn from the lotus blossom, a flower that closes at dusk and reopens with the sun — a fitting frame for a stone that also changes with the light. A ring of accent stones fans out beneath the center gem like petals, in your choice of D-color VVS1 moissanite or natural G/H diamonds, all conflict-free. The slender 1.8 mm band keeps the bloom in focus, giving the Eva a delicacy that stands out even among our floral engagement rings and the wider world of nature-inspired engagement rings.
The oval cut, made for color
At its heart sits a 7 x 9 mm oval lab-grown alexandrite of approximately 1.4 carats. The elongated oval gives alexandrite a generous face to perform on: cool bluish green under daylight, warming through violet into purplish red under candlelight and indoor bulbs. The effect is not a coating or a trick of the setting — it is the stone itself absorbing light differently by source, and our article on how lab-grown alexandrite changes color explains exactly what to expect. An oval also wears larger than a round of the same weight and flatters the finger, virtues it shares with the best of our oval engagement rings.
Solid rose gold, three karats
Every Eva is made to order in solid rose gold — choose your karat from the drop-down menu:
- 10K rose gold — the hardest and most durable of the three, and the most affordable way to own this design.
- 14K rose gold — the most popular all-rounder, balancing everyday durability with a rich, warm rose hue.
- 18K rose gold — the warmest color and the highest gold content, for a truly luxurious finish.
Not sure which to pick? Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide breaks the choice down clearly.
Petals of moissanite or diamond
Both accent options earn their place in the bloom. Moissanite is a real lab-grown gemstone in its own right — D color, VVS1 clarity, rated 9 on the Mohs scale, with even more fire than diamond; our guide to whether moissanite is a lab-grown diamond clears up the difference. The natural diamond option brings G/H color, eye-clean I1 clarity, and conflict-free sourcing. Either way, the petals catch light from every angle while the alexandrite does its slower, stranger magic in the middle.
A symbol of rebirth and transformation
The lotus has meant rebirth and resilience across cultures for millennia: it rises from still water and opens fresh every morning. Alexandrite, for its part, is the gem of transformation and good fortune. Together they make the Eva an engagement ring with a story built in — a love that keeps opening. It is one of the most distinctive designs in our alexandrite engagement rings collection, and a memorable alternative to more conventional sparkle.

Sizing & care
Select your size from the drop-down menu — half and quarter sizes are offered — and measure at home with our ring size guide. Sizing tools differ slightly between jewelers, so readings can vary by up to half a size. Alexandrite’s 8.5 Mohs hardness makes the Eva an easy daily companion: wash it occasionally with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, dry it gently, and store it apart from diamonds and other harder stones. The slender band appreciates being removed for gym sessions and heavy lifting. Your ring ships free within the USA in a complimentary luxury ring box.
Frequently asked questions
What makes the Eva a flower ring?
The setting is inspired by the lotus blossom: accent stones fan out beneath the oval center stone like opening petals. The motif is structural, not engraved, so the ring reads as a bloom from every angle while staying refined enough for daily wear.
Is the alexandrite real?
Yes. The Eva carries lab-grown alexandrite, which is genuine alexandrite: the same chrysoberyl mineral as the mined gem, with the same chemistry, the same 8.5 Mohs hardness, and the same true color change, grown in a controlled laboratory instead of mined.
What colors will I actually see?
In daylight or cool white light the stone shows a vivid bluish green. Under warm light, candlelight, lamps, evening interiors, it shifts through violet toward purplish red. The change follows the light source around you throughout the day.
How large is the center stone?
The oval center stone measures 7 x 9 mm and weighs approximately 1.4 carats. Because ovals spread their weight across an elongated face, it wears noticeably larger than a round stone of the same carat weight.
Should I choose moissanite or diamond petals?
Moissanite offers D color, VVS1 clarity, and even more fire than diamond at a friendlier price; it is a real lab-grown gemstone, not an imitation. The natural diamond option brings classic diamond brilliance in G/H color with eye-clean I1 clarity, conflict-free. Both are beautiful; it comes down to budget and sparkle preference.
Which rose gold karat is best?
10K is the hardest and most affordable, 14K balances durability with a rich rose hue and is our most popular choice, and 18K has the highest gold content and the warmest color. Every option is solid rose gold throughout.
Is this ring solid gold or gold over another metal?
Solid gold, all the way through, in the 10K, 14K, or 18K rose gold karat you select. The color is permanent and will not change with wear.
Is a 1.8 mm band strong enough for daily wear?
Yes. Solid gold at this width is well proven for everyday rings, and the slender profile is what gives the Eva its delicate, botanical look. As with any fine ring, remove it for heavy lifting, gym work, and tasks involving harsh chemicals.
How long until my ring arrives?
Each Eva is handmade to order; please allow 3 to 5 weeks for production before shipping. Requested modifications may extend the timeline and adjust pricing.
Can the ring be engraved?
Yes, complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included, room for a date, initials, or a few words meant only for the wearer.
How do I get my ring size right?
Measure at home with our online ring size guide before ordering. Ring sizers and mandrels vary slightly between jewelers, so sizes can differ by up to half a size; half and quarter sizes are available in the drop-down menu.
How do I care for the Eva?
Clean it with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, then pat dry. Store it separately from harder stones such as diamonds and moissanite jewelry, and keep it away from abrasives and harsh household chemicals.
Is an appraisal available?
Yes, an optional professional appraisal can be selected from the drop-down menu. Please note the appraisal fee is non-refundable once the work has been performed.
Does the Eva work as an anniversary or birthstone gift?
Beautifully. Alexandrite is a modern June birthstone and a symbol of transformation and good fortune, and the lotus motif adds a story of rebirth, making the Eva a meaningful choice for anniversaries, milestones, and June birthdays as well as proposals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
