Some rings feel borrowed from a storybook. The Esme is one of them — a vintage-inspired oval moissanite engagement ring in solid 14K white gold, its 7×9 mm center stone glowing a soft, twilight lavender between colorless D-color moissanite side stones. Romantic, unexpected, and made to be kept for generations.
A Vintage Silhouette With a Fairy-Tale Center
The oval cut has anchored heirloom rings for more than a century, and it still does the quiet work that makes vintage design endure: it elongates the finger, softens the hand, and holds light in long, rolling flashes rather than sharp glints. Here that classic silhouette carries something no antique tray ever held — a lavender moissanite, its gentle violet tones set off by a colorless side stone on each shoulder. If you love old-world romance but want a stone nobody else at the table is wearing, this is the balance our vintage moissanite engagement rings were designed to strike.
The Lavender Moissanite Center
Moissanite is a real lab-grown gemstone — silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, with even more fire than diamond — not an imitation of anything. In this soft violet hue it reads as pure fantasy: pale amethyst in candlelight, cool lilac in daylight, always with the rainbow sparkle moissanite is famous for. Lavender sits in the same romantic family as the stones in our purple gemstones guide, yet outshines nearly all of them in brilliance and daily-wear durability. Curious how it stacks up against the obvious alternative? See how moissanite compares to a lab-grown diamond.
D-Color Side Stones for Quiet Contrast
The side stones are colorless moissanite graded D color — the icy-white top of the colorless scale. Their job is contrast: framing the pastel center with pure white light so the lavender looks deeper and the sparkle looks brighter. The high-polish white gold band keeps the whole design luminous from every angle.
Solid White Gold — 10K, 14K, 18K — or Platinum
Every Esme is made to order in the solid precious metal you choose from the drop-down. 10K white gold is the hardest and most affordable; 14K is the classic balance most couples pick; 18K carries the richest gold content. Platinum is naturally white, noticeably denser, and hypoallergenic — a lifetime metal for sensitive skin. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide breaks down the differences, and yellow or rose gold versions are available on request.
For the Non-Traditional Romantic
Lavender has long stood for calm, devotion, and creativity — a fitting palette for a proposal that doesn’t follow the script. The Esme belongs beside our fantasy-inspired engagement rings and the dreamier corners of our women’s engagement rings, and it pairs naturally with other oval moissanite engagement rings if you’re building a matched look. Ethical, conflict-free, and delivered in a free luxury ring box.

Sizing & Care
Sizing can vary up to half a size between jewelers’ tools, so please confirm yours with our ring sizing guide before ordering. Moissanite is exceptionally durable for everyday wear; to keep the polish pristine, remove the ring before heavy impact or chemical exposure and clean it occasionally with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is lavender moissanite a real gemstone?
Yes. Moissanite is a genuine lab-grown gemstone made of silicon carbide — it is its own mineral, not a simulant or an imitation. The lavender version is the same durable, brilliant stone in a soft violet hue.
Is moissanite just an imitation diamond?
No. Moissanite is a distinct gemstone with its own chemistry and optics. It actually displays more fire — the rainbow flashes of dispersed light — than diamond, which is part of why colored moissanite looks so lively.
How does moissanite compare to a lab-grown diamond?
Both are lab-grown, ethical stones suited to daily wear. Moissanite is slightly softer at 9.25 on the Mohs scale versus diamond’s 10, shows more rainbow fire, and costs far less — and it comes in colors, like this lavender, that diamonds rarely offer.
What does D color mean for the side stones?
D is the highest grade on the colorless scale. The side stones are icy white with no visible tint, so they frame the lavender center with pure, bright contrast.
Which metal should I choose — 10K, 14K, 18K, or platinum?
10K white gold is the hardest and most affordable, 14K is the classic all-rounder most couples choose, and 18K carries the highest gold content for the richest feel. Platinum is naturally white, denser, and hypoallergenic. All four are solid precious metals.
Can I order the Esme in yellow or rose gold?
Yes. The design is shown in white gold, and yellow or rose gold versions in the same karats are available on request — just contact us before ordering.
Is this ring made to order?
Yes. Every Esme is crafted to order in your chosen size and metal rather than pulled from a shelf, which is how each ring leaves the workshop to heirloom standards.
Can I wear a moissanite engagement ring every day?
Yes. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale, moissanite is one of the most scratch-resistant gemstones available — harder than sapphire and ruby — and it stands up beautifully to daily wear.
How do I clean a lavender moissanite ring?
Warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush are all it needs. Rinse, pat dry, and the stone’s sparkle returns instantly. Remove the ring before heavy impact or harsh chemicals to protect the setting.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our online sizing guide before ordering. Sizing tools vary slightly between jewelers — often up to half a size — so measuring carefully at home or with a local jeweler is worth the few minutes.
Is white gold or platinum better for sensitive skin?
Platinum is the safest choice for sensitive skin — it is naturally white and hypoallergenic. Solid white gold suits most wearers well, but if you have known metal sensitivities, platinum removes the guesswork.
What makes this a good non-traditional engagement ring?
It keeps everything traditional rings do well — an oval center, white metal, side-stone sparkle — and swaps the expected white center for a soft lavender one. Familiar in shape, completely individual in spirit.
Are the stones ethical and conflict-free?
Yes. Both the lavender center and the colorless side stones are lab-grown moissanite, created without mining, so the ring is fully conflict-free.
Does the ring come ready for a proposal?
Yes. Every ring arrives in a free luxury ring box with free USA shipping — ready for the moment, no extra wrapping required.
✨ Production time

Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.
AVAILABILITY
Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Limits depend on the width and design of the band. Spaces count toward the total.
• Women’s rings: up to 16 characters
• Men’s rings: up to 25 characters

Standard engraving is complimentary and set in Arial, chosen because it stays legible at very small sizes. These symbols are included at no extra cost:

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
