Some rings look new; this one looks inherited — in the best possible way. A moissanite engagement ring in yellow gold, its GRA certified D color VVS1 emerald cut center held above a scalloped pavé band with a moissanite-lined gallery beneath: the quiet, estate-jewelry confidence of a piece that seems to have a past, made to order for your future.
Old-World Gold, Old-Money Cut
Yellow gold and the emerald cut share a history: together they are the look of estate vaults and inherited signets, of jewelry that predates trends and outlives them. The step-cut center — elongated at 4.0 x 7.0 mm — trades glitter for gravitas, moving light in long, composed flashes across its open facets. Set against rich yellow gold, the colorless stone gains warmth at its edges while staying icy at its heart. It is the most traditional piece among our emerald cut moissanite engagement rings, and a natural fit within our wider solid gold rings collection.
Detail Where Only You Will Find It
A scalloped pavé band runs halfway around, each accent moissanite seated in its own curved scoop of gold — and beneath the center, the gallery is encrusted with still more stones, an old-world flourish that sparkles in profile. These are the touches that separate heirloom-grade settings from plain solitaires; our overview of engagement ring styles and setting types is a useful map if you are learning the vocabulary.
A Stone That Earns the Setting
Moissanite is a genuine lab-grown gemstone — silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with more fire than diamond — and this one is graded D color, VVS1 clarity, and documented by an included GRA certificate. The emerald cut is merciless with inferior stones because its open table hides nothing; a VVS1 grade is what lets this center hold up under that honesty. One question we hear often — does moissanite pass a diamond tester? — has an answer worth reading before the proposal toast.

Sizing & Care
Jewelers’ sizers and mandrels disagree more often than you would think — measured sizes can differ by up to half a size — so confirm yours with our ring size guide before ordering. Afterward, upkeep is minimal: warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush restore the shine; remove the ring for abrasive work; and trust moissanite’s 9.25 Mohs hardness to keep the step-cut facets crisp for decades.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the moissanite in this ring a real gemstone?
Yes. Moissanite is silicon carbide - a genuine lab-grown gemstone, not an imitation diamond. It carries more fire than diamond and rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, harder than sapphire or ruby.
Why does the emerald cut suit an heirloom-style ring?
Step cuts are the historic language of estate jewelry: long, open facets that flash in composed planes rather than glittering. Paired with yellow gold, the look reads timeless rather than trendy - a ring that will feel right in fifty years.
Does yellow gold make the stone look less white?
No - the opposite. The warm metal creates contrast that makes the D color center appear even icier, while the stone's flashes pick up a golden warmth at the edges. It is a deliberate, classic pairing.
Is the stone certified?
Yes. Each ring includes a GRA certificate for the moissanite center, and additional certifications are available upon request.
What size is the center stone?
Approximately 4.0 x 7.0 mm, with an average total carat weight of about 1.3 carats across the ring - center, scalloped band, and gallery accents together.
What is a scalloped pave band?
Each accent stone sits in its own small curved scoop of gold, creating a wave-like shimmer along half the band. It frames the calm step-cut center with movement without overwhelming it.
What is hiding in the gallery?
More moissanite. The openwork beneath the center stone is encrusted with accents, so the ring sparkles in profile - a detail mostly enjoyed by the person wearing it.
Will moissanite pass a diamond tester?
On most standard thermal testers, yes - moissanite conducts heat similarly to diamond. Electrical testers can distinguish the two. Either way, moissanite is its own certified gemstone, not a counterfeit of anything.
Which karat of yellow gold should I choose?
10K is the hardest and most affordable, 14K is the most popular balance of color and durability, and 18K has the highest gold content and the richest tone. All three are solid yellow gold throughout.
Is this real solid gold?
Yes. The ring is solid gold in your chosen karat from surface to core, which is why it can be polished, refreshed, and passed down as a genuine heirloom.
Is this ring durable enough for everyday wear?
Yes. Moissanite's 9-9.25 Mohs hardness handles daily life without scratching or clouding, and solid gold only needs an occasional gentle clean to stay bright.
Can I add a matching wedding band?
Yes. A coordinating band can be custom made to order to sit alongside this ring - contact us and we will design the pair together.
How long until my ring ships?
Each ring is made to order; please allow 3-5 weeks for production. Requested modifications may affect the timeline and pricing, confirmed with you before work begins.
Is engraving included?
Yes - complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters. Leave your request at checkout, and add an optional written appraisal from the drop-down menu if you would like documentation for insurance.
✨ Production time
Every ring on this page is cast, set and finished for your order. Nothing is taken from stock.
- Made-to-order solid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end.

- USPS Ground Advantage — free on every order
- FedEx Home Delivery® — $10
- FedEx 2Day® — $22

We ship worldwide with DHL. Live rates for your address are calculated at checkout — usually DHL Express Worldwide, with DHL eCommerce Parcel Standard also offered to some destinations as a slower, lower-cost option.

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.
AVAILABILITY
Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Limits depend on the width and design of the band. Spaces count toward the total.

Standard engraving is complimentary and set in Arial, chosen because it stays legible at very small sizes. These symbols are included at no extra cost:

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
