Gothic romance by candlelight. This moissanite bridal set takes the coffin cut somewhere unexpected — warm, solid yellow gold — where the GRA certified D color VVS1 center burns against antique-toned metal like a flame behind old glass. Two rings, milgrain and beadwork throughout, made for brides who want their darkness gilded.
The Engagement Ring
An elongated coffin cut moissanite, approx. 10 x 6 mm (~1.8–2.1 ct), framed by beadwork and round moissanite accents on a 1.7 mm yellow gold band.
The Contour Band
A matching band lined with round moissanites along its curve, shaped to nest flush against the engagement ring with no gap.
Why Yellow Gold Changes Everything
Put the same coffin cut stone in cool white metal and it reads icy and modern; set it in yellow gold and the whole mood shifts to Victorian — wax seals, candle flame, an heirloom found in a velvet drawer. The warm metal wraps the colorless center in contrast, making the stone look whiter and the gold look richer at the same time. It is the antique route into the aesthetic our gothic engagement rings collection celebrates, and our journal’s tour of Victorian gothic engagement rings shows just how deep that lineage runs.
The Shape with a Story
The coffin cut’s tapered shoulders and squared end give it a presence no oval can match — memento mori softened into romance, a reminder to love while the loving is good. Milgrain beadwork traces every edge of this setting, the kind of intricate handwork usually reserved for antique reproduction pieces. Browse the rest of our coffin cut engagement rings to see how the shape plays across other stones and settings.
A Certified Stone That Outsparkles Diamond
Moissanite is a genuine lab-grown gemstone — silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale — with more fire and brilliance than diamond, not a stand-in for it. This center is graded D color and VVS1 clarity and ships with its GRA certificate. If you are weighing stones, our guide to moissanite vs lab-grown diamond compares sparkle, durability, and price honestly — and yellow gold flatters moissanite especially well, since the warm reflection deepens every flash of fire.
Three Karats of Solid Yellow Gold
Pick 10K for maximum hardness at the friendliest price, 14K for the classic balance most couples choose, or 18K for the deepest, richest yellow — every option is solid gold through and through, ready to be worn daily and handed down. Our karat comparison guide lays out the differences; solid rose or white gold is available on request. And when the wedding comes, the contour band already matches — though our moissanite wedding bands offer more ways to build the stack. Conflict-free, free USA shipping, free luxury ring box.

Sizing & Care
Sizes measured by different jewelers can vary by up to half a size, so double-check yours against our ring size guide before ordering. Yellow gold and moissanite are both forgiving companions: wash the set in warm water with mild soap and a soft brush, pat dry, and remove the rings for abrasive work or heavy lifting. The stone’s 9.25 Mohs hardness keeps it bright through daily wear, and the milgrain detail needs nothing more than the occasional gentle clean.
Frequently Asked Questions
What comes in this bridal set?
Two coordinated rings: the coffin cut moissanite engagement ring and a matching moissanite-lined contour band. They are designed as a pair, so the stack is complete from the day of the proposal.
Does yellow gold suit a colorless stone like moissanite?
Beautifully. The warm metal creates contrast that makes the D color center look even whiter, while every flash of fire picks up a golden glow at the edges. It is the classic antique-jewelry pairing, revived.
Is moissanite a real gemstone or a simulant?
A real gemstone. Moissanite is silicon carbide, grown in a lab as its own mineral species - not an imitation of diamond. It has a higher refractive index than diamond, meaning more fire, and rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale.
What certification does the stone carry?
Each moissanite ring includes a GRA certificate for the center stone. Additional certifications can be arranged at an added cost if you need them.
How big is the coffin cut center?
Approximately 10 x 6 mm, roughly 1.8 to 2.1 carats. Its elongated shape carries visual length down the finger, so it wears larger than a round stone of the same weight.
What is the milgrain and beadwork detailing?
Milgrain is a row of tiny metal beads applied along the setting's edges - a hallmark of Victorian and Art Deco jewelry. Here it traces the coffin cut center and the contour band, giving the set its antique, handmade character.
Do the engagement ring and band sit flush?
Yes. The contour band is shaped to follow the engagement ring's silhouette exactly, so the two nest together with no visible gap.
Which karat of yellow gold should I choose?
10K is the hardest and most affordable, 14K is the most popular balance of warmth and durability, and 18K has the highest gold content and the richest color. All three are solid yellow gold throughout.
Can I get this set in a different metal color?
Yes. Solid yellow gold in 10K, 14K, or 18K is selectable from the drop-down, and solid rose gold or white gold versions are available on request - contact us before ordering.
Is this real solid gold?
Yes. Every karat option is genuine solid gold all the way through, which is why the set can be polished and passed down for generations.
Can moissanite handle everyday wear?
Yes. At 9-9.25 Mohs, moissanite is second only to diamond in hardness among popular ring stones. It resists scratches and stays brilliant through decades of daily use.
Is a coffin cut ring appropriate for a wedding set?
Absolutely. The shape reads bold and romantic rather than macabre - a favorite of gothic, celestial, and non-traditional brides - and the matching contour band grounds it as a true bridal set.
How long does it take to make?
The set is handmade to order; please allow 2-5 weeks for production. Custom modifications may extend production time or adjust pricing.
Is engraving or an appraisal available?
Both. Complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included - leave your request at checkout - and an optional written appraisal can be added from the drop-down menu (the appraisal fee is non-refundable once completed).

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
