Bottled sunlight, cut into a cushion. The Belle is a citrine engagement ring for the bride whose warmth walks in before she does — a natural 2.5 carat cushion-cut citrine glowing honey-gold at the center of a vintage-inspired setting, framed by moissanite or natural diamond accents in cool solid white gold or platinum.
Honey, Amber, and Late-Afternoon Light
Citrine is the sun-keeper of the quartz family: a natural gemstone in shades that run from pale champagne to deep honey-amber, long associated with prosperity, energy, and enduring happiness. The Belle’s center stone is a natural citrine of approximately 2.5 carats, a generous 8 x 8 mm square that fills the finger with warm golden light. It is also the classic November birthstone, which makes this ring doubly meaningful for autumn birthdays and harvest-season proposals. Dive into the stone’s lore in our guide to citrine meaning and symbolism, or see the whole sunlit family in our citrine rings collection.
Why the Cushion Cut Flatters Citrine
The cushion cut — a soft-cornered square, like a pillow — is a romantic, vintage-leaning shape whose large facets act as broad mirrors for color. On citrine, that means wide flashes of honey and gold rather than tiny sparks, so the stone reads warm and luminous across a room. The equal-sided profile sits beautifully centered on the hand; explore the silhouette further among our cushion cut engagement rings, and get setting and styling ideas in the citrine engagement ring guide.
Warm Stone, Cool Metal
Setting a golden stone in white metal is a deliberate contrast: the cool band makes the citrine look warmer, and the citrine makes the metal look brighter. Choose from four solid options in the drop-down — every one a solid precious metal, priced clearly with no upgrade fees:
- 10K white gold — the hardest and most affordable of the golds, with excellent everyday durability.
- 14K white gold — the most popular all-rounder, balancing strength, richness, and value.
- 18K white gold — the richest gold content, with a warm, luxurious feel and premium heft.
- Platinum — naturally white, densest of the options, and hypoallergenic.
Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide walks through durability, color, and value so you can choose with confidence.
Choose Your Accent Stones
The vintage-inspired setting carries your choice of accents: moissanite (D color, VVS1 clarity, Mohs 9) — a real lab-grown gemstone with more fire than diamond — or natural diamond (G/H color, I1 eye-clean, Mohs 10, conflict-free) for the traditional heirloom finish. If you are weighing warm golden stones against cooler ones, see how topaz and citrine compare — and for the wider field, browse our gemstone engagement rings and the full range of women’s engagement rings.

Sizing & Care
The Belle is handmade to order in your exact size, with half and quarter sizes available — measure first with our ring sizing guide, since readings can differ by up to half a size between jewelers’ sizers and mandrels. Citrine is a quartz at 7 on the Mohs scale: durable for daily wear with slightly gentler habits than a sapphire would need. Clean it with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush; skip harsh chemicals and prolonged direct sun in storage, take it off for gym and garden, and keep it boxed away from harder stones. An optional professional appraisal can be selected from the drop-down.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the citrine in this ring natural?
Yes. The Belle’s center stone is a natural citrine — the golden variety of quartz — cushion cut to 8 x 8 mm at approximately 2.5 carats. It is not simulated and not lab-created.
What color is citrine?
Citrine spans pale champagne through honey to deep amber-gold. Its glow is warm rather than icy — think late-afternoon sunlight — which is exactly why it stands apart from colorless engagement stones.
Is citrine really the November birthstone?
Yes — citrine is the classic November birthstone (alongside topaz), making the Belle a natural choice for November birthdays, autumn proposals, and anyone who loves harvest-gold color with built-in meaning.
Is citrine durable enough for an engagement ring?
Yes, with sensible habits. At 7 on the Mohs scale, citrine is a durable quartz that handles daily wear well — just remove the ring for heavy work, clean it gently, and store it away from harder gems like diamond and sapphire that could scratch it.
Why set a golden stone in white metal?
Contrast. Against cool white gold or platinum, the citrine’s honey tones look warmer and more saturated, and the metal reads brighter in return. It is the same logic as gold ink on white paper — each makes the other more vivid.
What does the cushion cut do for citrine?
The cushion’s large, pillowy facets act as broad mirrors, throwing wide flashes of golden color instead of small sparks. On a richly colored stone like citrine, that maximizes the warmth you actually see on the hand.
Should I choose moissanite or natural diamond accents?
Moissanite (D, VVS1) is a real lab-grown gemstone with exceptional brilliance and extra fire at a friendlier price. Natural diamond (G/H, I1 eye-clean, conflict-free) is the heirloom-classic route. Both frame the golden center in bright white sparkle.
Which metal should I choose?
10K white gold is the hardest and most affordable; 14K is the most popular balance of strength, richness, and value; 18K carries the richest gold content and premium heft; platinum is naturally white, densest, and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin.
Is this ring real solid gold?
Yes. Every option is a solid precious metal all the way through — solid 10K, 14K, or 18K white gold, or solid platinum — never plated and never gold-filled, so the color and value are permanent.
What does citrine symbolize?
Citrine has long been called the merchant’s stone and the sun stone — associated with prosperity, energy, joy, and enduring happiness. As an engagement stone, it reads as optimism made wearable.
Is engraving included?
Yes — complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included, perfect for a date, initials, or a phrase that belongs just to the two of you.
How long does the Belle take to make?
It is handmade to order; please allow 3–5 weeks. Requested modifications may adjust the production timeline and pricing, and different gemstone options are available with a custom quote.
Can I add a professional appraisal?
Yes — select the optional appraisal from the drop-down menu. The appraisal cost is non-refundable once the work has been performed.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our sizing guide at aquamarise.com/pages/find-your-size. Ring sizers and mandrels vary between jewelers by up to half a size, and half and quarter sizes are available, so measure carefully before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
