Sailors once steered by two things: the color of the water and the star that never moves. The Astra holds both. An aquamarine engagement ring in rose gold, it sets a natural oval aquamarine — 5.0 x 7.0 mm, approximately 0.75 carats — beneath a star-inspired arrangement of sparkling accents, so the warm blush of solid rose gold cradles a stone the color of open sea under a guiding light.
The North Star, Worn Daily
Celestial jewelry usually shouts; the Astra navigates. Its accent stones are arranged like a compass rose around the center stone — a quiet nod to the North Star as the fixed point lovers steer by — while the vintage-inspired gallery keeps the profile romantic rather than novelty. Among aquamarine engagement rings, that star-map geometry is what sets the Astra apart: symbolism you can point to, in a silhouette that still reads timeless. It shares its old-soul character with our vintage aquamarine jewelry.
Why Rose Gold Flatters Aquamarine
Blue and blush sit across the color wheel from each other, so the warm pink of rose gold makes aquamarine’s cool, watery blue look bluer — a contrast white metals cannot offer. The pairing also warms against skin, which is why rose gold has become the romantic’s default. See how the three gold colors compare in our guide to yellow vs white vs rose gold, or browse more of the pairing in our rose gold aquamarine jewelry collection.
The Stone: Natural Oval Aquamarine
The Astra’s center is a natural aquamarine — the stone of courage, calm seas, and clear-eyed devotion — cut as a 5.0 x 7.0 mm oval of approximately 0.75 carats. Oval faceting elongates the hand and returns soft, even light, and at 7.5–8 on the Mohs scale the gem is well suited to everyday wear. Our aquamarine gemstone guide covers its color range, history, and lore in depth.
Accent Stones: Your Constellation, Your Choice
- Moissanite — D color, VVS1 clarity, 9 on the Mohs scale. Brilliant, fiery, and budget-kind.
- Natural diamond — G/H color, I1 eye-clean clarity, conflict-free, 10 on the Mohs scale. The heirloom route.
Three Karats of Solid Rose Gold
The Astra is crafted in solid rose gold throughout — select your karat from the drop-down:
- 10K rose gold — the hardest and most durable choice, and the most affordable for everyday wear.
- 14K rose gold — the most popular all-rounder, balancing lasting strength with a rich, warm color.
- 18K rose gold — the deepest, warmest rose hue with the highest gold content.
Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide walks through durability, color, and value — and the Astra sits within our wider family of solid gold rings.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the North Star design symbolize?
The North Star is the fixed point travelers have steered by for millennia, so in jewelry it stands for constancy and guidance: a love you navigate by. The Astra's accents are arranged in a star-inspired pattern around the aquamarine to carry that meaning.
Is the aquamarine natural?
Yes. The center stone is a natural oval-cut aquamarine measuring 5.0 x 7.0 mm at approximately 0.75 carats, with the serene blue glow the gem is prized for.
Why choose rose gold with a blue stone?
Warm blush metal and cool blue stone are natural complements: the contrast makes the aquamarine look bluer while the rose gold flatters most skin tones. It is the most romantic pairing in the aquamarine family.
Which rose gold karat should I pick?
10K is the hardest and most affordable, 14K is the most popular balance of strength and color, and 18K carries the deepest rose hue with the highest gold content. All three are solid rose gold.
Is this ring solid gold?
Yes, the Astra is crafted in solid rose gold all the way through, in your choice of 10K, 14K, or 18K.
Should I choose moissanite or natural diamond accents?
Moissanite accents (D color, VVS1) give exceptional fire at a friendlier price; natural diamonds (G/H, I1 eye-clean, conflict-free) add heirloom provenance. Both sparkle bright white against the rose gold.
Is aquamarine the March birthstone?
Yes, aquamarine is the traditional March birthstone, which adds a layer of meaning for March birthdays and early-spring proposals. Discover more March birthstone rings on our journal.
Can aquamarine handle everyday wear?
Yes. Aquamarine rates 7.5-8 on the Mohs hardness scale, so it wears well daily. Remove the ring for heavy or abrasive tasks to protect the facets and accent settings.
How do I clean this ring?
Use warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft brush, then rinse and pat dry. Avoid harsh chemicals and at-home ultrasonic cleaners.
Can I have the ring engraved?
Yes, complimentary engraving is included, up to 16 characters - coordinates, a date, or a name all fit.
How do I get my ring size right?
Sizes can vary by up to half a size between jewelers' tools, so measure with our sizing guide before ordering. Half and quarter sizes are available.
How long does production take?
The Astra is made to order; please allow 3-5 weeks for it to be handmade for you. Requested modifications can extend the timeline.
Can I request a different center stone?
Yes, different gemstone options are available for this design. Contact us for a custom quote.
Is an appraisal available, and what ships with the ring?
An optional appraisal can be selected from the drop-down menu; its cost is non-refundable once performed. Every ring ships free within the USA in a luxury ring box.
✨ Production time
Every ring on this page is cast, set and finished for your order. Nothing is taken from stock.
- Made-to-order solid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end.

- USPS Ground Advantage — free on every order
- FedEx Home Delivery® — $10
- FedEx 2Day® — $22

We ship worldwide with DHL. Live rates for your address are calculated at checkout — usually DHL Express Worldwide, with DHL eCommerce Parcel Standard also offered to some destinations as a slower, lower-cost option.
For many countries, duties and taxes can be prepaid at checkout for a smoother delivery — if prepaid, no additional fees are due on arrival. Customs fees are set by your country and are non-refundable once the order has shipped.
Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.

Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
