The first stone is an emerald-cut emerald, about 5×7 mm and 0.8 carats, in rich forest green with crisp step-cut faceting. This is a lab-grown (lab-created) emerald — the same beryl mineral and green color as mined emerald, grown ethically for more consistent color and fewer inclusions. Emerald is Mohs 7.5–8; like all emeralds it rewards a little gentle care.
The moissanite
The second stone is a pear-cut moissanite, about 5×7 mm and 0.8 carats, graded D colorless, VVS1 clarity — the top tier for moissanite.
