Two rings, one set
This is a two-piece set — an engagement ring with the kite Herkimer center and a matching band, designed to nest together as a complete bridal set.
The galaxy Herkimer center
The center is a natural Herkimer — a naturally double-terminated quartz — in a raw kite cut, about 6.0×10.0 mm and roughly 1.4 carats. Its salt-and-pepper mix of black and white inclusions gives it a galaxy-like depth, and because it forms in nature, every stone is unique in color and clarity. Herkimer is a softer stone (quartz family, around Mohs 7), so it wears best with a little extra care. If you're drawn to non-traditional engagement rings, this raw, celestial center is a distinctive alternative to a classic diamond solitaire.
Choose your accent stones
Select your side-stone accents from the drop-down (about 0.3 total carats either way):
MoissaniteLab-grown, D color · Mohs 9.25 · exceptional fire, best value
Natural DiamondG/H color · I1 (eye-clean) · Mohs 10 · genuine mined diamonds
Choose your karat
The set is made in solid yellow gold — never plated or filled — so the warm color runs all the way through. Choose the karat that suits you:
Higher karats contain more pure gold and show a deeper yellow but are a touch softer; lower karats are harder and more affordable. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat guide explains the differences. Prefer white or rose gold? This set can be made in either on request — contact us for a custom quote.

Sizing & care
The set is made to order in full, half and quarter sizes from 3 to 11, and complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included. If you're unsure of your size, use our ring size guide before ordering. Herkimer is a softer, raw stone, so remove the ring during rough activity, clean gently with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, avoid harsh chemicals and hard knocks, and store the rings separately. Because each Herkimer is natural, its exact color and inclusions will vary.

Frequently asked questions
What's included in the set?
Two pieces — an engagement ring with the kite Herkimer center and a matching band, designed to sit together as a complete bridal set.
Is a Herkimer a real diamond?
No — despite the name, a "Herkimer diamond" is a naturally double-terminated quartz crystal, not a diamond. It's prized for its raw, glassy clarity and salt-and-pepper inclusions, and each one is unique.
What accent stones can I choose?
Select moissanite (lab-grown, D color, Mohs 9.25) or natural diamond (G/H color, I1 eye-clean, Mohs 10) from the drop-down. Both are about 0.3 total carats.
How durable is the ring?
The accents are very hard (Mohs 9.25–10), but the Herkimer center is softer (quartz, around Mohs 7), so treat it gently and avoid hard knocks and harsh chemicals.
Will my Herkimer look exactly like the photo?
Each Herkimer is natural and one-of-a-kind, so the pattern of black-and-white inclusions and overall clarity will vary from stone to stone.
What metals can I choose?
Solid 10K, 14K or 18K yellow gold from the drop-down. White or rose gold are available on request — contact us for a custom quote.
Is the metal solid or plated?
Always solid. The metal runs through the entire piece, so it will never wear off or expose a base metal underneath.
What's the difference between 10K, 14K and 18K?
Higher karats hold more pure gold and show a richer yellow but are a little softer; lower karats are harder and more affordable. See our karat comparison guide for details.
How do I find my ring size?
Use our ring size guide. The set is made to order in sizes 3 to 11, including half and quarter sizes.
Is engraving included?
Yes — complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included. Add your text at checkout.
How long until it ships?
Each set is handmade to order and typically ships within 3–5 weeks.
