Fantasy-Inspired
The shield-cut moissanite center
The center is a rare shield (fantasy) cut moissanite — a five-sided, step-faceted silhouette with an antique, architectural look that stands apart from round, oval, or pear. It's D color (colorless), VVS1 clarity, ~1.8–2.0ct, 9–9.25 Mohs, with a GRA certificate. Moissanite has even more brilliance and fire than diamond. To be clear, moissanite is its own gemstone, not a diamond or a lab-grown diamond — our is moissanite a lab-grown diamond? guide explains the difference. Explore more moissanite engagement rings.
The sapphire leaf enhancer
The V-shape enhancer is the visual hero: marquise lab-grown blue sapphires nestle into gold leaves with round moissanite accents along the stems, framing the shield center like foliage growing up around it. Lab-grown sapphires share the same chemistry, hardness, and vivid blue as mined sapphires, with a traceable, sustainable origin. Sapphire is September's birthstone; our sapphire meaning guide covers its lore, and there's more in our sapphire engagement rings.
An enhancer set — two looks in one
Engagement Ring
Shield-cut moissanite solitaire (7×10mm, GRA-certified). Worn alone, a clean architectural engagement ring. Solid yellow gold.
Leaf Enhancer
V-shape ring guard set with marquise lab blue sapphires and moissanite accents, wrapping the solitaire. Matching solid yellow gold.
The enhancer (also called a ring guard or jacket) slides over the solitaire from above, so together they read as a lush leaf-and-vine set, while the solitaire alone stays clean for daily wear.
Choose your metal & karat
Select your karat from the drop-down. Every option is solid yellow gold throughout — the metal itself, never plating or vermeil over a base metal, so the warm color is permanent, won't wear off, and won't turn your skin green. Karat sets the gold's purity and price: 10K is the most durable and affordable, 14K is our most popular balance of rich color and everyday strength, and 18K is the purest, warmest gold. Our 10K vs 14K vs 18K gold karat comparison guide walks through how they differ.
-
10K Yellow Gold: maximum durability, most affordable
-
14K Yellow Gold: our most popular — rich color with everyday strength
-
18K Yellow Gold: purer, richer gold with a luxurious feel
Why solid yellow gold
Whichever karat you choose, this set is solid yellow gold throughout — not plating or vermeil over a base metal. Warm gold makes the blue sapphires pop against the colorless center, and the color is permanent: it won't wear off and won't turn your skin green.

Sizing & care
Moissanite (9–9.25 Mohs) and sapphire (9 Mohs) are both very hard and well suited to daily wear. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Both pieces should be ordered in the same size since the enhancer nests around the solitaire; please reference our sizing guide before ordering. An optional written appraisal can be added from the drop-down menu (non-refundable once completed).
Shield cut moissanite ring set FAQs
What is a shield (fantasy) cut?
A rare antique cut with a five-sided silhouette and elongated step facets — an architectural look that stands apart from round, oval, or pear cuts.
Is moissanite the same as diamond?
No — moissanite is its own gemstone with even more fire and brilliance than diamond, at a fraction of the cost. This center is D color, VVS1, GRA-certified. Not a diamond or lab-grown diamond.
Are the blue sapphires real?
Yes — they're lab-grown sapphires, with the same chemistry, hardness, and vivid blue as mined sapphires, grown sustainably with a traceable origin. Real sapphires in every meaningful sense.
Which metal should I choose?
Every option is solid yellow gold — available in 10K, 14K, and 18K. 10K is the hardest and most budget-friendly, 14K is our most popular balance of color and durability, and 18K is the purest, richest gold. See our karat comparison guide for details.
What is a ring enhancer?
A decorative band (ring guard or jacket) that slides over and frames a solitaire. Here, the leaf-and-sapphire V-shape enhancer wraps the shield moissanite solitaire for a dramatic stacked look.
Can I wear the rings separately?
Yes — the shield solitaire wears alone as a clean engagement ring; add the enhancer for the full leaf-and-sapphire look.
Is this real solid yellow gold?
Yes. Every option is solid yellow gold throughout — the metal itself, not plating or vermeil. The color is permanent, won't wear off, and won't turn skin green.
