Blue and blush sit opposite each other on the color wheel, which is the quiet science behind why the Belle is so hard to look away from. This cushion cut blue sapphire ring sets a generous 8 × 8 mm stone of roughly 2.5 carats — royal blue, softly pillowed at the corners — into warm solid rose gold, letting each color make the other more vivid.
The Cushion Cut: Softness with Substance
A cushion cut is a square that learned gentleness — rounded corners, pillowed facets, and a candlelit way of returning light that sharper cuts cannot imitate. At a full 8 × 8 mm and about 2.5 carats, the Belle’s center stone is the largest silhouette in its family, yet the softened outline keeps it romantic rather than imposing. It is the cut vintage jewelers reached for when they wanted presence and warmth at once; our cushion cut engagement rings collection shows how the shape flatters every stone it holds.
A True Sapphire in Royal Blue
The center stone is a lab-grown blue sapphire — genuine corundum, chemically identical to a mined sapphire and just as hard at Mohs 9, with a saturated royal blue that stays even from edge to edge. Sapphire has symbolized truth and faithfulness for centuries, which is why it keeps finding its way onto engagement fingers; our guide to sapphire engagement rings explains what to look for, and the wider world of gemstone engagement rings is there if you are still comparing stones.
Why Rose Gold Changes Everything
Set in white metal, a blue sapphire looks classic. Set in rose gold, it looks alive — the blush band warms the composition and pushes the blue toward its deepest register, the way a sunset makes the sea look bluer. The vintage-inspired setting carries your choice of moissanite or natural diamond accents, adding refined sparkle around the center. If you are weighing metals, our yellow vs white vs rose gold guide lays out how each changes a stone’s character, and the rose gold jewelry collection shows the metal across the catalog.
Accents: Moissanite or Natural Diamond
Select your accent stones from the drop-down. Moissanite: D color, VVS1 clarity, Mohs 9 — icy white with vivid rainbow fire. Natural diamond: G/H color, eye-clean I1 clarity, conflict-free, Mohs 10 — the traditional white flash. Both make the royal blue center read deeper by contrast.
Three Karats of Solid Rose Gold
The band is cast in solid rose gold — the blush tone is alloyed through the metal itself and permanent. From the drop-down:
- 10K rose gold — the most durable and most affordable.
- 14K rose gold — the classic best-seller, balancing strength and rich color.
- 18K rose gold — the highest gold content and the warmest blush.
The trade-offs are laid out in our 10K vs 14K vs 18K karat comparison guide. Prefer a different shade? Yellow gold and white gold are available on request.

Sizing & Care
Half and quarter sizes are available from the drop-down. Measure first with our ring size guide if you can — ring sizers and mandrels can disagree by up to half a size between jewelers, and five minutes now is easier than a resize later.
The Belle is built for real life. Sapphire’s Mohs 9 hardness handles daily wear; clean the ring occasionally with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft brush, then dry with a lint-free cloth so both the stone and the rose gold keep their glow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the blue sapphire genuine?
Yes. It is a lab-grown sapphire, which is a genuine sapphire — the same corundum crystal and Mohs 9 hardness as a mined stone, differing only in origin. That origin makes it conflict-free with remarkably even color.
How big is the center stone?
The cushion-cut sapphire measures approximately 8.0 x 8.0 mm and weighs about 2.5 carats — a generous, high-presence center by any standard.
What is a cushion cut, exactly?
A square or squarish outline with rounded corners and large, pillowed facets — the shape of an old-world cushion. It returns light in a soft, romantic glow rather than sharp flashes, which is why it is a signature of vintage-style rings.
Does blue sapphire work with rose gold?
Beautifully. Blue and blush are complementary tones, so the warm band makes the sapphire look bluer while the cool stone makes the rose gold look warmer. It is a more distinctive pairing than the traditional white metal.
Is sapphire safe for everyday wear?
Yes. At Mohs 9, sapphire is one of the hardest gemstones worn in rings — only diamond and moissanite rank higher. No special precautions are needed for daily life.
Will the color of the stone or the band change?
No. The sapphire’s blue comes from trace elements inside the crystal and is permanent, and the rose gold’s blush is alloyed through solid metal, so both colors last for the life of the ring.
Which accent stones should I choose?
Moissanite accents (D, VVS1, Mohs 9) offer near-flawless whiteness with extra fire; natural diamond accents (G/H, eye-clean I1, conflict-free, Mohs 10) keep the sparkle classic. Both are excellent daily-wear choices.
What is the difference between the karat options?
10K rose gold is the hardest and most affordable, 14K is the best-selling balance of durability and color, and 18K carries the highest gold content with the deepest blush. All three are solid rose gold.
Is this ring solid gold or plated?
Solid rose gold in every karat — never plated or gold-filled — so the color is permanent and it will not turn your skin green.
Can I get the Belle in yellow or white gold?
Yes — yellow gold and white gold versions are available on request. Contact us before ordering and we will arrange your preferred metal.
Is engraving included?
Yes, complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included — a date, initials, or a short private phrase.
How long does production take?
The Belle is made to order; please allow 3-5 weeks for it to be handcrafted. Requested modifications may extend the timeline and adjust pricing.
Can I add an appraisal to my order?
Yes — an optional appraisal is available from the drop-down menu. The appraisal cost is non-refundable once the work has been performed.
✨ Production time

- Made-to-order solid gold and platinum: 3–6 weeks, depending on the design. Pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end.

We ship worldwide with DHL. Live rates for your address are calculated at checkout — usually DHL Express Worldwide, with DHL eCommerce Parcel Standard also offered to some destinations as a slower, lower-cost option.

Every order ships fully insured and requires a signature. Full details on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Engraving is cut into the inside of the band, so it stays between the two of you.
AVAILABILITY
Engraving is offered on most — though not all — designs. If it is available for this ring, an engraving field appears with the options above.

Limits depend on the width and design of the band. Spaces count toward the total.

Standard engraving is complimentary and set in Arial, chosen because it stays legible at very small sizes. These symbols are included at no extra cost:

Frequently Asked Questions
Every ring on this page is made in solid gold or platinum — never plated, never gold-filled. Solid gold comes in 10K, 14K and 18K across yellow, white and rose; our platinum is 95% pure, naturally hypoallergenic, and white the whole way through. Available metals vary by design and are listed in the selector above. Our Precious Metal Guide explains how each one wears.
Side by side and brand new, the two look almost identical. The difference shows up over years of wear.
White gold is a gold alloy finished with rhodium for brightness. It sits lighter on the hand and costs less, and the rhodium finish is refreshed every few years to keep it crisp.
Platinum is white all the way through, so there is no finish to renew. It is around 40% denser — noticeably weightier — and over time develops a soft matte patina that many people prefer. It can be polished back to a high shine whenever you like.
Our Platinum vs Gold guide compares durability, cost and upkeep in full.
Solid gold is gold throughout — alloyed for strength, but the same metal at the surface as at the core. Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a layer of gold applied over it, which thins with wear and needs replating to stay bright. Rings on this page are solid gold or platinum only. Our Precious Metal Guide sets out where each makes sense.
Neither tarnishes. Gold and platinum are two of the most stable metals used in fine jewelry, and both hold their color indefinitely. Platinum does develop a satin patina as it is worn — that is surface texture rather than damage, and it polishes out at any time. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all either metal asks for; see our Jewelry Care Guide.
Nothing on this page is pulled from a shelf. Each solid gold and platinum ring is cast, set and finished for your order, which takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the design — pavé settings, custom sizing and engraving sit at the longer end. Shipping is added once your ring is finished, and paying for faster shipping speeds up transit only — it does not shorten production. Full timings are on our Shipping & Delivery page.
Use the Size Chart linked beside the Add to Bag button, or our full Ring Size Chart. Because these rings are made to order, we cut your size from the start rather than resizing a stock band — so measure carefully. Your first resizing is free if it is still not right. Most designs can be adjusted, though eternity bands and rings with stones set the whole way around usually cannot.
On most designs, yes — if engraving is available for this ring, a text field appears with the options above. Standard engraving is complimentary: up to 16 characters on women’s rings and 25 on men’s, set in Arial, with a small selection of symbols included. Custom fonts and symbols are $25 and are arranged before you order. See the Engraving page for what is possible. Engraved rings are final sale.
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn rings in original condition. Because solid gold and platinum rings are made to order, they are subject to a restocking fee, and engraved pieces are final sale. Full terms are on our Returns & Refunds page. Every ring is also covered by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
