Jewelry Warranty and Care Guide
Let’s be honest—no one buys fine jewelry to worry about aftercare. You buy it to wear it, love it, create memories in it, and capture special moments by gifting it.
That’s exactly why exceptional jewelry should come with a clear and dependable jewelry warranty. At Aquamarise, every piece of jewelry includes backup support through a straightforward warranty designed to protect you against manufacturing defects. We make it simple and easy to understand. There’s no confusing fine print—just detailed and genuine information to help keep your sterling silver, vermeil, gold, and platinum jewelry looking stunning year after year.
This Warranty & Care Guide is provided for informational and educational purposes to help you understand how Aquamarise jewelry warranties work in practice. It does not replace or modify the official terms of Aquamarise’s Limited Warranty.
What Is a Jewelry Warranty?
A jewelry warranty is a safety net. It’s a brand promise that the piece of jewelry you selected was made with care and craftsmanship—and that if something goes wrong due to a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship, it may be repaired or replaced.
For example, you receive a ring and notice a loose stone, a bracelet clasp that won’t close, or an earring with a faulty backing. Structural or craftsmanship issues present at delivery—such as defective clasps, weak solder joints, or compromised stone settings—fall under warranty coverage.
However, everyday accidents, loss, and theft are not part of warranty coverage. Understanding what is and is not covered can help avoid confusion and frustration later.
Understanding “Limited Lifetime Warranty”
Many jewelry pieces are described as having a limited lifetime warranty. While this sounds reassuring, it’s only meaningful when you understand what it actually includes.
A limited lifetime warranty protects against manufacturing defects. It does not cover every issue that may occur as jewelry ages. Over time, fine jewelry naturally shows signs of wear—scratches, thinning metal, softened finishes, or loosened prongs. These changes occur through regular use and do not indicate a flaw in manufacturing. As a result, they are not covered under a limited lifetime warranty.
The Key Distinction: Defects vs. Normal Wear
It’s easy to confuse manufacturing defects with normal wear, but the difference is important.
Manufacturing Defects
Manufacturing defects are issues that occur because something wasn’t made correctly. These issues are typically noticed early, shortly after you receive and begin wearing the jewelry.
Examples include faulty clasps, cracked solder joints, stones that are loose or misaligned upon arrival, or uneven polishing that reveals dull areas. These defects do not develop years later and are covered under the warranty if reported within the applicable timeframe.
At Aquamarise, solid gold and platinum jewelry is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects, while sterling silver, vermeil, tungsten carbide, titanium, and steel jewelry includes a 100-day warranty.
All warranty determinations, including whether an issue qualifies as a manufacturing defect, are made at Aquamarise’s sole discretion.
Normal Wear
Normal wear occurs through everyday use. Over time, chains may stretch, surfaces may scratch, finishes may lose polish, and prongs or stone settings may loosen. Vermeil jewelry may naturally fade due to friction, moisture, and exposure to lotions or perfumes.
Because these changes develop gradually through regular wear, they are considered normal wear and are not covered under the warranty.
Jewelry Warranty vs. Insurance
Jewelry warranties and jewelry insurance serve different purposes.
A jewelry warranty is included with your Aquamarise purchase and protects the original purchaser against manufacturing defects. Warranty coverage requires proper care and does not apply if the jewelry has been altered or repaired by a jeweler outside of Aquamarise.
Jewelry that is damaged due to accidents, misuse, or improper care is not covered under the warranty. However, Aquamarise offers professional repair services at a fair cost to restore your piece when possible.
Jewelry insurance begins where the warranty ends. Insurance may protect against loss, theft, accidental damage, and sometimes wear-related issues, depending on the policy. Insurance policies are typically renewed annually and often cost around 1% to 2% of the jewelry’s value per year.
For high-value jewelry, combining warranty coverage with insurance is recommended.

Coverage may vary by insurance policy. Aquamarise warranty coverage applies only to manufacturing defects and requires proof of purchase.
Aquamarise Sterling Silver and Vermeil Jewelry Warranty
Sterling silver and vermeil jewelry are among the most loved designs at Aquamarise. Each piece includes a complimentary 100-day warranty covering manufacturing defects from the date of purchase.
If a piece arrives with a loose stone, faulty clasp, or structural metal issue, Aquamarise may repair or replace it at no cost. Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
Jewelry that has been altered, resized, repaired, or modified by any jeweler other than Aquamarise is not eligible for warranty coverage.
A Note About Plated Jewelry
Vermeil jewelry features a layer of gold over sterling silver, making it more durable than standard gold-plated jewelry. However, it naturally fades over time with regular wear.
Exposure to moisture, perfumes, lotions, and friction contributes to this gradual change. This is considered normal wear, not a manufacturing defect, and is not covered under the warranty. Proper care can help extend the life and appearance of vermeil jewelry.
The sterling silver and vermeil warranty does not cover misuse, accidents, improper storage, loss, theft, or external repairs or modifications.
Gold and Platinum Jewelry Warranty
All solid gold and platinum jewelry from Aquamarise is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects for customers residing in the USA. This warranty applies to manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship and does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, loss, or theft. This warranty covers manufacturing defects such as misshapen rings, misaligned prongs, inconsistent finishes, or stones chipped or loose upon delivery.
Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
What’s Covered
Manufacturing defects related to materials, craftsmanship, or stone settings are covered. Eligible items will be repaired whenever possible. If repair is not feasible, Aquamarise may replace the item with the same or a comparable design of equal value.
What’s Not Covered
Normal wear and tear, natural aging, and external damage are not covered. This includes thinning bands, scratches, loosened stones from long-term wear, chemical exposure, accidental damage, theft, and repairs performed by other jewelers.
Preventative Maintenance Tips
Preventive maintenance helps preserve the beauty and longevity of fine jewelry. Regular inspections can identify small issues before they become major repairs.
